Very nice. I would recommend differentiating between areas where you have no data and areas that use fiat currency. Maybe you could make a video that also shows silver, copper, and fiat usage over time.

Ya know that the thing that’s been the basis of every advanced economy for the last 5,000 years?
What if we just didn’t use it anymore?

Absolute chaos (Inflation, Trillions of national debt, greater inequality, geopolitical instability, war, etc, and more....)

Europe never stopped using gold coins, even after Rome adopted other forms of currency alongside gold. Just look up the Solidus or the Florin.

Thank You WMW! I hope you found it interesting (it took over 2 months to make to do the research)

Excellent presentation! Though I do want to mention that in Southern India and Sri Lanka around 100 AD onwards at least Roman Gold and Northern Indian Gold coins were in regular use. By the year 1000, local Gold coinage was once again dominant.

Thanks I'll take a note of that for when I make the more detailed version of it, for every single year (I don't know when I will do it)

I would of expected more in west Africa during 1300 ad considering mansa musa. His kingdom used gold dust as currency

Probably true, I've heard of Mansa Musa and his gold. Probably just an error in the researching process. If the video gets 100,000 views I will remake the video and more thoroughly research each year. And I will do every 1 year from 2450 BC to 2000 instead of every 50 years. It will be a big project, will probably take over 1000 working hours. This video alone showing every 50 years took over 200 hours

I’m here right before this gets 1 million views.

Thanks! I sure do hope it reaches 1 million views. However I think the video is too short for the algorithm. We'll see, 1000 views is the first milestone

@@thegoldstandard721 trust me short videos are good because people are more likely to watch the whole thing and rewatch the video
