Someone help me. I tried to find a translation from Italian for "Ettorre." It seems to be the Italian version of the name "Hector", which I suppose is Greek in origin. It is a name that we seldom hear anymore in America. Perhaps that's the customer's name. Ah well, it's always enjoyable to watch Iris at work. And, the final result is a hair style befitting an athlete of ancient Greece.
Exact. "Ettore" is the Italian version of the name "Hector". Currently it is written "Ettore", "Ettorre" is an older form no longer in use in the Italian language. I also suppose that it is the customer's name. It is a name of Greek origin, for example Ettore is the name of one of the protagonists of the ancient mythological poem The Iliad. The meaning of the ancient Greek word is "the one who is firm".
It depends where you live…. The first name ‘Hector’ is still used in the Spanish speaking Latin American world….. Therefore, in somewhere like Miami you may hear it more…..
