- Tezpur University, one of the Premier Higher Education Institutions of India was established on January 21, 1994 as per the Tezpur University Act, 1993. The University, which is fully residential and unitary in nature, is currently offering 73 academic programmes through 22 departments under the Schools of Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management, and Sciences. In addition to the aforementioned 22 departments, UGC has sanctioned three new departments, viz, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Assamese and Department of Design to the University. The University also offers 07 programmes in open and distance mode under its Centre for Open and Distance Learning.

Seat Reservation system ase be nai ?
In B.Tech 60% seats reserved for NE students and caste based reservation applies like any other government institution. In Sciences, Humanities and Commerce entrance test is conducted and caste based reservation is there.
