I watched your video on setting up your cycler. I didnt see you sanitize the end of your transfer set before you hooked yourself up. Do you not sanitize the tip of the transfer set before and after hook up? My center has me soaking and scrubbing for 2mins with Alcavis 50. Just curious... Hope to hear back from you. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for the comment! The mini cap that covers my transfer set has iodine that sanitizes the tip. As long as nothing but the connecting tubing touches the transfer set it is safe to use. But if anything else touches the transfer tip I need to contact my nurse and get a new transfer set for my catheter. I've only had to do that once. But you should always follow the steps that your dialysis nurse and clinic taught you.
