I am in discord server of mod developers and have downloaded the mod in early beta versions or alpha versions and I gonna correct you. The models, animation and etc were in Vic Modern Warfare the devs just forked Vic Modern Warfare and started continue working. What is fork? You asked. It means in simple term that someone else is taking a project. The more knowledge people can comment down here. But the work they do is great. I am studying in IT and I know two or five things about processes in modding so I am grateful they are working on mod. They earned my support.

Everytime I try to craft weapons in the Vic's most recent version (which also uses the bench) my game crash, but for the rest it's fine. Any idea why?

probably not as its curseforge page says its only for 1.12.2 but sometimes mods work for other versions so maybe just try it
