Hey! Jesse! You can seriously improve this deck with the whale! You can consistently bring out general raiho of the ice barrier, and you get a pop on field during their battlephase. Plus it's triggered by sea stealth 2 popping after battle phase!
The whale is actually the win condition of the deck. After you lock the field, you summon the whale with Dark Reef and attack directly with everything.
Maybe if your opponents has some sort of Beatstick then Whale could be the out.
But modern deck is just so Combo-oriented and most of the time the "beatstick" only exist in the extra deck. Most of the Main Deck would just be Starter and Extender with weak stats.
wrong, the win condition is floodgating your opponent. Any monster card is capable of attacking your opponent for game
@@hhminh1467 You do not understand. The Whale is the Accesscode Talker of the deck. It is not just some random water creature.
@mulldrifterz6469 exactly on top on letting your water monsters attack directly it also pops a monster amd when it dies you can special summon a water warrior monster aka general raiho of the ice barrier

The foolish burial goods, ice barrier, gameciel package is clutch. Helps with consistency and adds additional forms of interaction.
I actually won locals a few weeks ago with this deck (much better in TCG with Foolish Burial Goods and Pots at 3). Completely shuts down Fire 🙂

Had a 40 minute duel yesterday against this with my naturia horus deck. Literally only won because one of the horus monsters is water lmao

Hi! I LOVE Deskbots, and Deskbots have WAAY more potential than most people realise just by reading them. I'd LOVE to see what you could do with them.
I've been building Deskbot decks since only the first 3 Deskbots existed, and as time went on and new cards were released, I found SOO MANY powerful combos with the deck, but the deck usually is still weak to hand traps. I've had some versions that weren't, and one that only existed for a short amount of time before a ban list hit the Chronomagician combo, I had a super powerful consistent deck that could go first and get 4 negate monsters, and 7 cards in hand by the end of the first turn, that didn't care too much about hand traps (depending on the hand).
When the earth fairies came out, I created infinite resource versions of Deskbots that had the potentially to use the entire extradeck.
I really want to see where you can push this high potential, but weak to hand trap deck.
I’d love to see Jesse try out a performapal deck/pendulum pile since Monkey Board has come back to 3!

This will always be nostalgic, I remember playing around water to gain the 500 attack gain. Only during battle phase. For water only. We would make those special rules as if we were in duelist kingdom.

Despite me not liking floodgate decks, I have to say that I have a soft spot for Umi. Not only was the first deck that I built on my own, but also was my first introduction to archetypes, building around 1 card and trying to figure out synergies that works was what attracted me to the game and TCG's in general, If I didn't played one of the DS or Tag Force games, saw Umi and that certain cards interacted with that card, I wouldn't be playing card games to this day. A shame that when it came out in MD, it also came with Marincess and Shark, and I expected them to be somewhat popular in ladder (and was quite right at that time) so it wasn't the best time to play them, and the time never come up and the deck is pretty fragile now, but at least is consistent, but man, it was a bummer not being able to play the deck in a good moment :c (And I doubt Konami will give good support for it, seeing how attach to the anime character the theme is and that they don't know how to give cards to it, if go umi or the fisherman)

General Raiho, the Ice Barrier trap + Foolish Burial Goods is a nice addition to the deck and it’s not a bad deck, I went to master 3 with it

I would love to see you try Heroic Challenger/Champion, Chaos Dragons, Dark World or Dragunity. Heroic Challenger/Champion are one of my favourite fun decks to play around with, Chaos Dragons are just one of my all time favourite decks, Dark World is just a classic and Dragunity was the first archetype/deck I played when I got back into YuGiOh. So it would be cool to see you tackle these decks.
Not using the Whale for the direct attack OTK is wild.
This is my favorite deck. You should try it out with a Horus and Icejade package. Works really well together.
kairyushin is pretty cool deck, i built it after it came out. problem is it has one single combo line with setting up the traps, you can chain the traps to send the umi to grave and then bring it back. Problem is its a trap control deck but doesnt have great draw card options available for it. Kairyushin is one of the most oppressive floodgates in the game.
EDIT: Also the point of popping the kairyushin off the board early is one for protecting it and 2 for blowing up their board after it comes back.
The sky striker duel really highlights how skilled you are. Excellent duel man.

I just started making content on CZcams and made a short on Maki at full power. Happy to see another water and marine enthusiast. My favorite animals are Turtles. Happy to see another person talk highly of the budget and rogue strategy too!

Love some Umi. Youre definitely sleeping on the whale though. Instead of a second kairyushin on dark reef you bring out the whale, get a pop in their BP and have all your guys swing for game on your turn. Play with General Rai-oh of the ice barrier for extra degeneracy

Hey jesse I love the destiny board win con. Would love to see if you can pull it off in the modern era of yugioh!! I stopped playing it when a ruling change meant that flipping 2 destiny boards didn't mean 2 letters appeared each opponents turn.

I got a royal copy of Ojama King, so i felt obligated to look at the old Ojama cards and noticed one card combos VERY WELL with Horus. Discard it to add all Ojamas to hand, then OLD SCHOOL ZONE LOCK 😂😂

Hi. I know spell counters, and counters in general, are a dead idea, but spellcasters accruing spell counters and using them to "cast spells" and produce an effect was my favorite thing as a pet deck when playing casually. If you could mahbe make something out of those it would be cool.

While Infinite Impermanence is a good card, in Umi I think Forbidden Droplet is the better card. This is an even better card if you run the ice barrier package as well, but a nontarget negation that modulates attack is another form of protection heading into the damage step against problematic monsters.
Seeing a YCS champion/ one of greatest yugioh players playing non meta decks is so interesting. I like to see pros break non meta deck. Can you play syncron next. I think it’s great deck but the combo lines can be hard.

I often feel like the main reason Umi stun has never seen representation is because of the fact that stun is very hated in YuGiOh. I feel like at the time of the release of this support that deck could’ve seen at least a little bit of success.
