People don't see her as a legend because her career is still very young, at least to the public. She's been making music for over a decade, but she's only been in the public strata as a major player for about five years or so. She will no doubt be remembered as one of the key musicians of her generation, but she's still young and her career is not that old in the grand scheme of things.
