- Episode 6 • Rear Trans Tunnel
In this video, we continue fabrication on Denny's 69 Chevrolet Corvair. Scott makes the rear section of the transmission tunnel. This car will be getting a brand new Nelson Racing twin-turbo LS V8 and it'll be moved up front. This car will sit on a custom Roadster Shop chassis with massive 6-piston Brembo brakes. It'll also be getting tons of metal fabrication, custom interior, custom wheels, and so much more. Make sure to follow this build closely, it'll be a wild one!

And you guys respond back to us viewers ! Total class !
This channel deserves 100x the followers it has. Keep this content up and you will be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, car channels on youtube MMW!
I hope people appreciate how good this builder is. Very detailed meticulous work.
Love these videos. they are way more informative than watching a show on TV because we get to see the work being done and how the guys figure out how to make something work . Where as for tv they tell you we're going to do this and that and then they show it done . Plus, with your videos, it's not like watching an info commercial with them naming all the products they're using .
👍There is absolutely nothing wrong with "tunnel vision".
More videos like this please. And interior trim on other cars too.
Wow I can't wait to see this creation when it's finished. I have a '66' Corvair 140hp convertible that's a pleasure to drive. Can only imagine what that vehicle would be like, behind the wheel.
I really enjoy the detailed look at the process ... your doing the perfect content ... you guys are good ...
Thanks for watching
Scott, impressed! I’m learning some of these skills through my friend, Matthew Dean Welder, it is incredible to watch such a cool Corvair come to life!
This is how AUTOMOTIVE DREAMS ARE BUILT!! 😎👍🇺🇸
Awesome series!
One of the best fabrication companies on CZcams, along with RetroPowerCars and Axes:Garage
Great fabrication skills on show and explaining why and how you do processes...Coachbuilding as it used to be 👏👏👏
Those lines are going to be sick
Scott, I could watch you work all day. Your metal fabricator is actually like meditation . Absolutely love the work. 👍👍
It's amazing how much work goes into something that will never be seen. Not only is it functional, but pretty!
that is some very nice bead work!!
Thank you!
Great attention to detail, love the craftsmanship put into building one off projects ! Definitely looking cool !
Just stumbled on you guys......bonus! Love the master level craftsmanship. I'll be hangin round watchin. Thanks!
Welcome aboard! Don’t forget to Subscribe!
Love what you guys are doing on the Corvair. I only wish the engine had stayed in the back. But it's not my dollar. More content please.
You’ll like what we do to this Corvair, so keep watching!
It's a whole of "little" bits like this that make make up a whole lot of car. Thanks for sharing it with us.
And, let's never forget - All hail the algorithm!
The amount of time and craftmanship that goes into just that one piece is pretty amazing.
It is so evident just how much pride the crew takes in their work. My first time in the shop I was totally blown away. Speed Is The New Black needs to be back on the air.
I just found this channel a week ago, amazing skills 👌
Spent many hours going through your videos.
Just waiting for the next episode. Tanks!

Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching! 👍
Danke liebes Internet dass ich bei dem Aufbau dabei sein kann
Im most excited about them rear fenders, i can see the vision of how it’s gonna turn out with the skeleton for sure … like a “closed wheel” F1 fender or indycar, thing gonna be wicked 🤘🤘
I’ll have a couple videos on the outer wheel tubs and shaping the outer rear quarter panels over the next few weeks. Those are great episodes. Stay tuned!
Carpenter by trade... But this metal work is off chart.... Really enjoy video's ✌️
Glad you enjoy it!
Mostly Everyone in the comments said what I wanted to say. I always enjoy the builds and the Fabulous results. I might not ever own a vehicle of that status, but I enjoy every bit of the build!!
Thanks for watching!
Love all the detail work, keep it up guys!
Thanks! Will do!
😎👍🔥This has to be one of the best builds you guys have done, love the fabrication video
Thanks 👍
Old fashioned tradesman
great job on your video and chronicling the steps. Beautiful work....cant imagine dropping that kinda $$ on a Corvair but to each his own. It will be the baddest one around Im sure. Shop tour sometime when you are able. It's incredible to see what Noah and the crew have grown that business to. Continued success.
This to me is the best part of building hot rods etc keep the paint and interior work great work by the team thanks for posting very enjoyable
I am a big Corvair fan and love the build so far!
Thanks for watching!
It's sad that alot of this incredible metal work will be hidden in the final product, such a shame......i hope the plan takes in consideration of this and allows for strategic places where it will be seen. I really dont think people appreciate the skill these guys have as this kind of fabrication and metal work is an art form!!!
It’s a good thing we’re showing it off in these awesome videos! 😉
I know his capabilities by now but I’m still amazed by every piece he fabricated each episode.
Thanks for the details
The talent and quality of these guys is off the charts... I only live 30 mins from you guys too! ...Currently looking for a Lincoln continental for a custom project... expect my call sooner than later for that fellas. Great work.
I don't think I can get bored of seeing work on the Corvair. All the metal work is truly mesmerizing to watch! Keep up the great work you all!
Edit: spelling
Thank you very much!
What a pleasure to watch a true craftsman at work… Sydney Australia… keep those videos coming
Incredible metal craftsmanship going into this project….
Love seeing this one progress…
Thank you for the Video, All the best to you guys!🥰
Wow!!!
Really GREAT work guys. I'm about to start a project I've been wanting to do for years; I'm going to make a 1984 Chevrolet C-10 super-cab, starting with a 4 door cab & I'm going to *try* to incorporate some of the CCS tricks I've picked up into it!
Looking forward to all the fab work! This was a good one too. 🔥
Now that's a custom car!
Great video! Keep up the good work!👍
I'm curious how many man hours you typically have in these complex builds. I could see this one taking over 3,000, plus video work for the channel. Good stuff!
The metal work is incredible. Both of these guys fabricating the metal are true craftsman.
When are you guys going to have an “open house”. Would love to visit the facility.
We have a Fall Open house every year, so follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see updates about that. We haven’t set a date yet for that event.
@@ClassicCarStudio generally what month has it been? Do you think it will be about the same time again?
Love your video's !
love them
0:10. Sweet recyclable driveshaft.
And it’s lightweight!
@@ClassicCarStudio You put the car in cardboard.
I consider myself a hobbyist body, paint, much lighter restorations. These guys are artists in every sense of the word. None of the silly attitudes most car restoration shows have. You want to buy these guys a drink and just pick their brains..
You're absolutely correct. This is the car content I've always wanted as a car enthusiast. The over produced stuff on television is unwatchable for me now that this platform on youtube exists. Love it.
I’m pretty sure this guy can go out back and “check the air compressor” a couple times a day and just get shit done.
Awesome videos keep them coming! What gage metal do you use for the pieces being made?
18 gauge
I can’t wait to see someone make a build like this one but not do a v8 swap. Keep it original build a strong flat 6
😱😛

My father had a corvair in 1971ish California Castle AFB mom made him trade it for practical ride...
Also see here on you Tube the widest V8 MGBGT in the world
You’re going to find that the radiator is not going to remove the heat from the engine and you are not going to like the results of what you’re doing. You are going to end up having cooling done from the back of the car. Your radiator doesn’t solve the thermodynamics of what you’re trying to do. The radiator is not big enough.. ! Back to the drawing boards guys!! This has been issues with Corvair front engines for years. Move the turbo to the sides . To much heat in that compartment.
We have a similar setup on our twin turbo 66 C10 shop truck. It works great if setup properly. We haven’t had any overheating issues.
Drift cars have been doing this for years & they do it all day on the track. Besides, if this is mostly a drag car, it won't be an issue in the slightest.
