I just realized something. Imhotep never broke his deal to Beni. He kept his word about the rewards for Beni’s loyalty. Most movie villains backstab their greedy minions when they’re of no use to them anymore. This is quite a nice change from the usual trope.
Imhotep is actually sympathetic at times

@@joshuaashby4720 The way he looks at the O'Connel's with a bit of a smile. Like actually being happy to see them together.
He doesn't hurt Alex and he even recognizes the qualities of his father in him. Even in the first movie, he thanks Eve for bringing him back from the undead and you see the pain he feels when Anaksunamun dies (twice).

That's why the first two movie has good reception. (The second one has pretty bad CGI)
The 3rd one was just trash.

I saw a great analysis of that moment when he smiles at them. He knows that if he asked them to help him, they would. But as everything he ever did was now empty and meaningless, he doesn't want to be helped. So he just lets go.
This movie got everything right....Cast, soundtrack, sets, costumes, romance, comedy, action.
And horror.

The bits comedy are most memorable😢
I love the little comedic beats during this like Rick looking at Jonathan when he takes his revolvers and how Ardeth is almost incredulous at Rick lighting the match off his face XD
This movie hit all the right beats....a true OG classic....
I like the randomness of where the priests are buried. Some are embedded into the wall while others are beneath the floor of the treasure room

😆 that part always killed me. Johnathan was always into anything gold, diamonds or something that was worth a fortune. Which at the end of this film he takes that huge diamond off the pyramid and uses it to build a Casino/bar out in China.

Mummies are a different type of zombie. Zombies, ghouls, revenants, Frankenstein's monster, vampires, and mummies are a type of monster called reanimated corpses.

You might want to delete your post before you embarrass yourself further. The scene was INTENTIONAL. It's called COMEDY and HUMOR. Do you really think they'd ACCIDENTALLY show Jonathan shooting with his hands? Lol. Kind of explains the expression on Rick's face at 2:14, looking at Jonathan like 'wtf'?
Boy, you guys really need to look carefully before posting. At 2:10, Jonathan is holding the torch with his left hand and firing his derringer with his right. The derringer runs out of ammo, so that's when he grabs Rick's revolvers.
