Photographing The Smallest Waterfall In The World?

- Uncle hopes to bathe in the rejuvenating waters of the Eternal Fountain while I show you how I shoot the smallest waterfall in very difficult light conditions. Amanda flexes her muscles and insists on dragging our hotel on wheels through the forest, making me feel like less of a man.
Will I capture the shot in challenging light and painfully cramped quarters? Will Uncle get out his magical flute? When will there be a camper in the back of the truck? If the suspense is killing you, hit play.

Based on on Adam's dancing in the intro I am pretty sure he was in several Oingo Boingo videos in the 80s.
I think small waterfalls with interesting rocks and trees are my favorite subject for photography. This one looks great.

Great shots Gavin. Tricky lighting conditions. Glad that Uncle Grumpy spared us bathing under the waterfall with his flute.
So I am learning ‘how to’ with landscape photos and you guys are really good explaining ‘how’ and ‘why’ with your videos. This one was very inspiring because when you got to your location, there were 99 reasons why this was a mess and shouldn’t work out, but being the professional you are, the photos were crafted into something beautiful. ( I’d say stunning, but Thomas Heaton owns that word). Kudos

You guys always make watching your videos really fun. We learn a few things. We admire some of your shots. We enjoy uncle Grumpy (Hello. Hello!) dancing and funny faces along with Amanda’s presence (thank God we have her to make you two look good haha) but the “piece de resistance” as you would say is the humor and good nature of these videos. The hazards of doing B roll, LOL. I loved Amanda's photo bombing at the beginning. She's a great edition to the team. I do love your images. That last one is my favorite. I have to admit with all that harsh light I think I would have passed that up. Hey, I'm still learning and I thank you for sharing these videos with us. Well, when Uncle Grumpy finds the eternal fountain of youth let me know :)
I like the clips where people walk (or drive) out of frame of their cameras because I know every time they have to be thinking something like, "I hope it's okay... I hope no one is stealing it... We're too far hurry and get back!"

That's the plan
I loved this one. I have a waterfall alongside a road with an ugly metal post in front, so I used the tripod to get the shots. Not bad, but not good either! I was concentrating really hard on getting the water just right, but the sun was in and out and there was a breeze so a lot to adjust for. One thing though, about halfway up the slope on one side, I saw a single small plant attached to a rock that still had a few red petals on it. I did my best and it's OK, but I stink at focus stacking, so it was just a nice shot, nothing to write home about!
That last image was just magical, great vlogg as always with Amanda looking as gorgeous as ever

I was surprised to see you two walking ahead! What is wrong with sitting on the carts? Im sure Amanda could just about manage. Well Grumpy is just bones, but she might struggle pulling you. Nice waterfall, bit of a black hole with bright sunshine.

Geeze, Gavin. As a pacific northwesterner myself, super contrasty scenes are very familiar and bedeviling to photograph. I found this an especially helpful vlog and an encouraging one as these shots vex me. Thanks for the tips and, as usual, excellent work.

Tell Uncle Grumpy the Fountain of Youth is here in my home town, St Augustine Florida. If you guys ever come down this way I can set him up with a private bath session.

It’s 11.55pm and I’m watching this in my garden in my underpants. It’s that bloody hot. I’ve even taken my socks off which means it really is muggy. 32 degrees here and no air-con. I went to open a dairy milk bar and the chocolate was liquified. I was up at 4.15am on Wednesday and per chance I spotted a poppy field. Well you can imagine I was all over it like a rash. Got some cracking shots as the sun came up. Although the heavy dew saturated my trousers and socks but no matter. I love the 3 way split screen you did. Very professional. I haven’t seen any thing like that from Masters Thomas or Adam. I see you got Amanda to pull her weight for a change dragging all the equipment. Her Tonka truck looks massive.

Wow that waterfall looked amazing. I think I would of struggled to get a good shot but man you two made it look easy!
What a cool little spot in the whimsical karst topography. Sounds like a bath in the "fountain of youth" would've at least got rid of the camp funk, but didn't want to risk it like that scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, cause that guy chose poorly. haha!

Awesome! Haaha, the troll bit is funny because I had my own trail troll experience just last night. This one wouldn't let me pass on the trail to get to my sunset spot. I think the toll would have been a big chunk out of my hide if I'd have passed - the alligator! LOL No matter how long I stared him down or tried talking to him sensibly (from a good distance mind you), he wouldn't budge. I had to go back. :(

I do not know if Amanda also are a professional photographer. But if she is not, it would be interesting to hear her thoughts about the compositions in your videos. A non-technical side of the shoot so to say. I am an armature photographer myself and sometimes it is hard to keep up with the do ore don’ts. Just a thought. Thanks for an outstanding channel.
