- We headed up to the historic Pennsylvania town of Honesdale, PA for the weekend to see why it is one of the hottest places to visit in the Poconos and to answer the question - is it worth the trip? SPOILER ALERT: It is! We found plenty of things to do, including grabbing amazing coffee from Black and Brass, seeing full scale locomotive replicas at the Wayne County Historical Society Museum, and taking in the stunning beauty of Tanner Falls! Only 2.5 hours from NYC, we think it’s one of the best hidden gems of the Poconos! What did you think? Would you visit?

I went to a summer camp about thirty minutes away from Honesdale. Driving into town for McDonald’s or a movie was there excitement of the summer.
That sounds awesome!! Did you get a chance to check out Tanner Falls while your were there?
@@krystalanderic So I never went to Tanner falls, but the “in” place to go for camp counselors on their days off was Skinners Falls on the Delaware River. I’m not sure exactly where but you had to drive through Calacoon to get there.

@@krystalanderic Yup. Check out Callicoon. It's right on the Delaware and it's a beautiful old town. If you cross into PA and drive down 191 towards Hancock, NY, (the other way from Honesdale) you will pass Camps Equinunk and Blue Ridge. My great-grandfather founded those camps in 1920 and they are still going strong.

I live on tanners falls road lmao, about 2 miles the opposite way is an eagles nest and I believe she had babies this year
