@@halfmoongardens3345 we've been having very hot humid wet weather here inland from Brisbane . We had many bush fires a few weeks ago so I've been clearing a lot of branches and bark from the surrounding bushland. I discovered that the leaves from eucalyptus trees are not good for compost as they stop seeds germinating etc. but the bark is good for compost and mulching . So I collect huge bags of it and break it up while I'm inside when it's too hot outside . I did a few batches of biochar from the branches. I use the bark in the bottoms of big pots too and mulch it around pot plants to help stop them drying out. A garden supply website says its best to be nitrofied (?) Probably best to soak it in nitrogen (urine)?
. It's been working really well., and it makes me feel a bit safer clearing out that really dry brush. When I light it it burns ferociously hot. I used your conical pit method you showed . Now I'm doing the mulch instead when we have fire bans.
