This man's soul is music.
I don't think people get how epic this is, he is one of the cornerstones for hip hop music 😮
i kinda didnt...and looks like alot of the crowd didnt either
@@r-test3668 That's because if many of the audience members were born in the 1990s or later, they probably and most likely didn't hear his music until way later in his afteryears of the golden age of DJaying from the 70s and 80s....So yeah, if you don't like his style that's fine, but he is an old school DJ that's still around to this very day.
Epic is absolutely correct.
Absolutely ✨
I like how he organically includes storytelling. This is more than a music presentation. It's an interactive history lesson!
It was a unique way of walking back the history of Hip Hop!
When people talk about Hip Hop & it’s heroes, it‘s all about the Dre‘s , the 2Pac‘s , the Biggie‘s… I think the Hip Hop community should never forget what Kool Herc , Grandmaster Flash , Afrika Bambaata, Grandmaster Caz and so many others did for it! Give them the respect and their place in history that they deserve! They started at a time where they had nothing more than two turntables , a mixer and a mic. And look what they created!!!!
Biggest respect from Germany to all the pioneers
This man should be a BILLIONAIRE!!! And the fact they took all his genius and don’t credit him like the properly should is INSANITY!!! Thank you sir for giving us such a gift and sharing you genius with the WORLD!!! 😎💪🏾
I agree 100%. That’s why I am also a DJ he inspired me.
Give this incredible DJ his flowers NOW PLSSS
This speech would make some great samples
MY MOTHA WAS A SEAMSTRESS
they should make a movie about this man and his magic
“The Get Down”
Thank you Grandmaster Flash for the inspiration. He is the one of the reasons why I became a DJ. I studied him and the way he killed the breaks. His record “The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash” is a blueprint classic on wax. Much love and respect to the legend and thank you for your contribution to Hiphop culture. Salute to Pioneer for building and taking it Deejaying to higher heights.
Glad you enjoyed his performance!
Same.big inspiration!
"I dont care who's better...I'm first and first is for ever.' GMF you are a legend 4 EVER. Thank you.
IT ain't nothing like Hip Hop music, much respect Grandmaster 👏👊
I remember learning how to spin in 1984 in Diamond Bar CA. First thing my Mentor taught me was how to LISTEN to the whole song and what to look for in it. We used to spend HOURS every other Saturday going from record shop to record shop looking for new sounds. Then spend the rest of the evening listening and playing them, sometimes to 3 or 4 in the morning. Good times, Great memories.
All because of THIS MAN...right here in this video.
SEEING THIS VIDEO, SEEING & HEARING GRANDMASTER FLASH DO HIS THING ON THE TURNTABLES, PLAYING THOSE CLASSIC BREAKS, BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES & GAVE ME CHILLS, I'M 57 NOW & I ENJOY IT STILL TO THIS VERY DAY, REAL TALK!!!!!!!!

Thank you Grandmaster Flash for telling our history and the Story of how it was. I was there in the Bronx with all my Brothers at Throggs Neck Projects and Bronx River Projects, !00 park and Block parties all over the Bronx i would remember the Lamp post and how we use to power up the amp and all the people having a ball . It was the best time in The Bronx. I also remember, giving out flyers Big battles of groups Funky four plus one more and Spoonie Gee and all the partying, It was amazing to watch the art of DJing. and How Grandmaster Flash do his thing I remember Harlem World Ball room and Disco Fever . Thank Grandmaster Flash. Moe from BX

I went to a James Brown concert at the age of 11. Saw Sade at 40. If I were to have been here it would have made my live music experience bucket 🪣 list 🙏🏼
I'm 50 this month, and love 70's, 80's and 90's hip hop 🏅
We're lucky we still have him! Great historic presentation!! Blessings and thanks for your contribution to music!
Class is in session! These breaks are the building block of HipHop.
One o' the Guvernors ! No Doubt - PIONEER
I remember back in the day when he threw street party jams all over Da Bronx. Long live Grandmaster Flash. The only one and the original. No one comes close. This video takes me back to the early glory days of just having fun and just grooving to his classic jamming and scratching. He did it with the old equipment which was harder than what is being used now. Technics SLB 1 series belt drive decks. But he continued to evolve into different models from my understanding. He hasn't lost his touch which is incredible.
The GOAT....ALWAYS ROCKED THE BRONX.....
GRANDMASTER FLASH STILL A STRAIGHT UP WIZARD 📀🎧💓🎵🎼🎶💓📀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👑🔊🔊
Absolute L-E-G-E-N-D! Thank you for blessing the world with your gift! Respect!

Honorable Grand Master,
Blessings 🙌 and Honor be upon you. As a 63 year old, who was raised in downtown Brooklyn, I was blessed to have had your music to enjoy for all of my life.
Even better for me, was meeting you about 20 years ago at the Bay Shore Home Depot. You came in a few times with questions about windows and doors. What impressed me the most was your humble demeanor. You are truly a genuine human being. You shared a story of how you had been to visit several NY State prisons to encourage the inmates. Brother, you have touched a lot of lives in so many ways. Although your instrument was the Technics 1200 Mk. 2, your real instrument was the heart you carry inside you.
May God / Allah always bless 🙌 you, in the same way that you have blessed so many others.
Bismillah
Rabil Alamin!!!!
As an old school B-Boy, to then become a DJ, this man influenced my life as a kid and is still an influence now. My life went in a wonderful direction because of Flash and other musical legends, in the old school days. I salute them all and thank them so much for awakening my creative side. Flash is an original, a creative genius, a man of heart and soul, a proper legend!
You'll forever be the best GRAND MASTER FLASH ❤❤❤❤

Grandmaster flash is the best, much respect 🫡
Man I loved this it brought back so many memories!!! We used to drive from Queens to the Bronx to listen to Flash and the Five… I was jumping out my seat grooving to the beat. Walking to the parks to hear the DJ’s and MC’c do their thing.. Like he said it was a great time, if you’ve never experienced it you missed out on the birth of hip hop…
Too cool, I remember those times, for me 1984! 🙌🏻 Happy 50th!
Salute ! Sir Grandmaster Flash Thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing me how to enjoy music. Happy 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop!

So down to earth, slick on the turntables and the creator of the slip mat too 🤩🙏🔈🎶
Thanks for making this video.
G.M.F. is the man who changed music forever.
All DJs owe G.M.F. for opening the world and minds to the mixing and scratching game, the beats, the breaks, the blends.
I have much respect for GMF as an old school DJ myself. He started in the 70s and I started in the mid 80s. No doubt he had major influence in the DJ culture. Some of his claims have been debated when it comes to being the creator of certain things. However, everybody has a story to tell, so he has the right to tell his. Either way you slice it, GMF deserves respect for the work he put into the DJ culture! #slaute
Well said....very diplomatic!
Flash in top form, killing’ it as usual!
“Grandmaster Flash is the reason that all us dj’s are doing what we’re doing”

I bought Ali Shared Mohammad's 1st solo CD off Penalty Records I think . He had like 5 joints on there that I listen to back , to back to back to back. Imma Huge fan of him. Production for Mos Def & DeAngelo & Lucy Pearl PHENOMINAL

50 yrs thank god
My god I would’ve loved to be in the audience. This is as much a history lesson, and music history lesson, as it is about DJ’ing and the evolution of hip hop.
GMF here’s your FLOWERS SIR…. Love you Brotha. Thank You for all you’ve done and Continue to do. Bro Really needs a tour.. OUTSTANDING
Flash is a number of things to many people.. The fact he is still kicking it is fire.. Never stop doing what you enjoy and pass the knowledge down to other generations.. I still have some pioneer turntables in storage that need needles... Too bad they so expensive now or I might pull them out and show the grandkids what's up LOL Doing it ole skool with out all the cross over effects and computer and midi stuff with a push of a button... Put the work in the way it used to be.. DJ's today do not understand the limitations and creativity this man and other had to do to get what they wanted. no dj programs.. no digital anything.. like that song said two turntables and a microphone... LOL You had to change and set the next record while on the fly ..no pushing a button or loading a pre programed beat.. Be well and peace... I thank Flash for all the years of enjoyment and the history lesson he is passing down right now... Best quote ever.. "Music has no Color." Remember that people.....
Truuuue we went from using paper, slim cardboards, etc to scratch like GMF using cheap turntables/stereo combo, PL L800s all the way to the epic MK2 after school and weekend garage parties. As a kid I always wanted to meet him as he was part of an era that inspired us to love music in a wild way. God bless the Grand Master and thank you for all!
Thanks Grandmaster
Such great memories. "The Renny", "Harlem World", The block parties, .............Flash used to play the beatbox too back in the day. Thanks Grand Master for keeping hip hop history alive
I dont even know how he just described my life. Im also from the Bronx lived in Throgsneck. And the south Bronx growing up the rest is gospel......
I teach an Dj class in Cincinnati, Ohio. Grandmaster Flash name will always be set in stone
Grandmaster go back to your roots and mix only with vinyl without a computer.
Mans too old to carry crates like back in the day.
FROM THE PIONEER ERA OF REAL HIPHOP 1970s and 80s DJ GRANDMASTER FLASH SHOWING THESE KIDZ HOW ITS DONE DJ GRANDMASTER FLASH IN THE MIX
You gon' learn you something TaDay!!!
A legend all day!!
50 years of hip hop should be a three day festival
This 57 yr old White man is externally grateful to GMF, the Furious Five, and to the genera we had a front row seat. Let hit the roller skating rink or the dance floor, I'm still highly proficient at both!
That what I'm talking about real hip hop and scratching records. You go grandmaster flash .
The ORIGINAL G... Definitely MY DON.. This man (and the furious five) , with 'The Message', was the reason I now love HIPHOP... I grew up with their music
This has to be the most wack crowd I ever seen. All just standing there holding their phones up. You are getting to see the OfuckingG of Hip Hop performing a live set, and all they do is stand there and hold a phone.
None of this is hiphop.....this is straight up freemasonry writing history for those who don't know better
Not that deep dawg. I was there and recorded some of it too while still digesting the message. QMT changed my approach on DJing for the better as well. Crowd was very into his set too…
That's because they are not the generation that grew up with the early evolution of the culture, rapping, b-boying, graffiti they weren't there from it's early days & how it affected the youth then.
GMF the world salutes you can't imagine hip-hop without you. The godfather is in the house!
🫡The godfather of hiphop 🤘🏾🎤…blessings to see GMF on the stage 💯❤️🎊💿
@pioneer DJ USA I miss my set up.
I am the inventor.
Girls Love The Way He Spins!!!!! Viva GMF!!!!
Such a big hip hop legend and its always nice seeing and hearing the real roots vinyl djing like the saying.what is a dj if he cant scratch so true big respect grandmaster flash 👍
A true legend.
I'm a metalhead through and through,...but before I found metal, I knew about early hip-hop. All the stalwarts, including this guy. What an incredible set he just ripped through. To hear the intro to LL's BAD, and that it's from a funky ass soundtrack!? BADASS shit. Commodores!? BADASS shit. His storytelling was a very nice touch. "If it had a drum break, it was hip-hop!" Hell yeah man. I love this guy.
MAJOR SALUTE TO THE GREAT GRAND MASTER FLASH,,HE THE REASON I STARTED CUTTIN WHEN I WAS 14,,WHEN I HEARD THE ADVENTURES OF FLASH I WAS IN WOW,,,SALUTE
Imagine having GMF living in the same house and listening to those beatz all day everyday… sounds like Heaven to me ❤✨
I'm 56 & we listened to rap. I never knew he had this effect & this role in hip-hop. This blew my mind.
The Grandfather/Grandmaster of Hip Hop, this got me so hype remembering hearing Hip Hop for the first time as a kid it was Dana Dane, Slick Rick an the human beatbox himself 😊
AMAZING! ❤️ Great presentation by a genius and humble human, Grandmaster Flash.
