Terrible race riding by all the other jockeys
If Mr Brightside had stayed 5 or 6 lengths closer during the race Via Sistina would have finished over the top of her.
Just goes to show how slow the tempo usually is in Australian middle distance races
Just jog for 1400m then sprint
It’s why the European and Japanese horses are far far superior

Yes European and Japanese horses are better. But that is what all longer turf races are like. Jog with slow first three quarters to 1400.Then all our sprint.I don't know the time of the race or splits, but that was something special to watch.

Can't disagree about being superior but I think Aussie horses are superior up to 1200m.
