Hi Nick, I really like your idea of being flexible on time frames. It perfectly makes sense to come down to the lower time frames even after three and half years of your interview. Thanks Etienne for a great interview and asking intelligent questions as always.
I agree with other commenters. Good food for thought, but live examples would have been very helpful. Interesting to here Nick refer to trading on a 12hr or 8hr chart as "scalping". I think of scalping typically done on a 1min, 5 min, or 15min chart. This would be a good thing to expand upon in a follow-up. As well as maintaining sight of market direction with each....
I think either I misspoke or you misunderstood, I am not sure which and if I misspoke then sorry! I do not consider the 12hr or 8hr charts scalping. While you can use the scalping setups I trade on the 12hr and 8hr charts the trades you enter are not really scalps. Personally I define scalping as 5-15 min charts, day trading as 1-4 hr charts and swing trading as anything higher than that.
forex4noobs.com you sound Aussie mate, good to see more Aussies getting big in trading. You made me consider the price action strategy more seriously, I also consider indicators are huge distraction and wish to get started asap with my own learning about forex. Cheers.
You know when someone pretends to be a succesfull trader when he differentiate timeframes. It doesnt matter wich timeframe you look, its all one, its all one pattern.
You don't need indicators. They're all delayed. They mean nothing. You can scalp long even in a down market, and vice versa. So what's the point? None.
Yep, they are pretty quiet. I don't think anybody can predict how long it will last. Could be a few months or a few years. This is why I think adapting is a good idea.
I'm a big fan of this guy
Awesome! 💪📈

Thanks E great interview price action is a fast moving style, I have not gotten to that point yet.
Yeah just take your time and trade whatever you are most comfortable with. Price action is not the only way to trade and it is not for everyone
keep up the good work Etienne

Forex market dead atm happens every now and then will change in next couple months
If you use atr for sl and tp then it can really help during dead times like this
It is dead right now but there are strategy's that do well in these markets.

Tell me that about gold, it definitely has moved alot since the volatility seen from the current trade war
