The New Season of GO Battle League is starting and with it pokemon with new moves. Taking a look at whether the great league meta changes this season with the changes in nerfs/buffs to moves.
Thanks a lot Dan, I will try to improve. Thank you again for the opportunity. ☺

You don’t explain it properly. He throws the move after 6 wing attacks. He should’ve thrown after 5 (which would usually be on alignment) but because Talon is a turn behind it would actually be perfect timing.
Hey Dan! Great video. Regarding the one turn switch, I have a rule of thumbs that helps me calculate this fast on the game: To the normal timing I would use if we started align, add the difference in the fast move turns.
For example, let's say I am running a counter Pokemon and a smack down user comes in. Three minus two is one. So I throw after two and five (normally, I would throw after one and four).
In this example, I have a wing attack user and an incinerate user comes in. So then I have to throw after five and ten, instead of two and seven, because the difference in timing between our moves is three.
EDIT: Of course, this only works if the difference is odd. If it is a 2 vs 4 turn moves, I throw at same timing. With 1 vs 5 turn moves, you just throw one less than normal.
I wish I could face opponents this bad but somehow even in the same ranking, I get paired with people that are playing near perfectly...
Just stop being so good 🤷♂️
Playing opponents who play near perfectly gives you the opportunity to get better. There is no incentive to improve your gameplay if you get away with playing incorrectly vs inferior competition. So look at it as a blessing
there may be some sort of skill based matchmaking, or just a luck factor at the low ranks
That’s also a hidden elo thing they pair you with people of a similar win loss ratio and previous season elo that are in the same rank.
@@17Gecko this. Even during ranks 1-20 you still are assigned an ELO but it just is not revealed until rank 20
ItsAXN is now on YT as well and he has a video for each fast move type. Also, apparently, he will create videos for more advanced mechanics as well.Dan, Rise Caleb and others also have videos explaining move timing.

Man these are HELPFUL! These videos are huge. Thank you so much.
Fast move timing when they just swapped in is 2x super effective against my brain.
I always mess up finding how our fast moves sync just based on the questionable animations in this game.
So a rule of thumb for fm timing after swap: if you have both swapped and no charged attacks have been thrown yet, you will still be in sync as if nobody had swapped. (You are at +1 for the swap and they are at +1 for the swap as well, syncing things back up.)
This is not fool-proof. This can be thrown off by weird moves like throwing a 3-turn fm before swapping etc. but in general if you stick to this most of the time you’ll be alright.
If they swap and you don’t, throw your move 1 turn before you normally would. (6 wing attacks vs 3-turn instead of 7etc)
If you swap and they don’t, add 1 turn to your counts
@@GrannySingaporePVP I mean when the swap is in the middle of a fast move.
So we each throw a couple, and then they swap.
It's the count we were on, +1 turn for their swap, then find where their new fast move count lines up 🙃
@@EthanS151 same still applies regardless of when they swap unless the turn durations are different. At that point it can throw it off. Like a 1 turn move vs a 3 turn move or whatever. But 2v3, 3v4, 4v5, and all even durations will always line up regardless of when they swapped. If they swap in the middle of your move you’ll have a 50/50 chance to line back up after your swap. If after you swap and you notice that you are de-synced then always throw the first charged attack if possible. This will allow you to get your lost turn back
@GrannySingaporePVP it doesn't though. Like say I'm using a incinerate (5 turns) and they have a 2 turn move, throw one attack then swap into a 4 turn attacker. It's easy to say 2 +1 +4 +4 +4... here but in the middle of a battle when I'm trying to count energy as well, it's easier to just watch the animations for when they sync up...
@@EthanS151 um. You literally just repeated what I said. Re-read my last post homie 😂 “UNLESS THE TURN DURATIONS ARE DIFFERENT”
😉
The timing vs long moves is where i struggle a lot as well. I dont always remember to focus on my enemy count vs what i have and instinctually double throw in those situations that would gove my opponent 3-5 turns of energy for free. Not always but after i do it i feel the sting a lot
Omg the algorithm cant be more real ngl. The instant i swap my team to double water i get 4 double electric teams in the back
0:10 thought you're in canada because of the ottawa 💀
I am. This is a subscriber showcase
@@DanOttawaPOGOhe’s slow as hell don’t waste ur time 😂
@@DanOttawaPOGO off topic bit I could use some guidance. ..I have a shadow charizard @0/15/15 IVs. With 1 elite fast TM do u think it's worth it for wing attack or dragon breath?
With the talonflame into mantine, the mantine threw 5. It would have been correct move timing with the 1 turn delay IF the swap happened during fast moves, but the talon came in after a charge move meaning he got the 0 turn swap. So throwing after 5 means he threw the charge on 11 when the 3rd incinerate started
Before the video started when you were talking about Lanturn on the lead being an Auto loss I was like what about Charja and then boom first game... Somehow the charja lead didn't have an answer for Gligar or even Clodsire/Dragalge, the three pokemon that completely wall it in this meta?? Brother needs a mudboi or an ice in the back
Hey Dan!! If you could visually represent a viewer SHOULD throw their charge mobe on proper timing would be great! Everyone verbally says how to do it but doesnt visually show when . Thank you!!
When im at ace my opponents are veteran ranked and when i hit veteran my opponents are expert ranked, ive never hit expert/legend
You gotta make a turn-timing video :)
I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but some of the misplays here hurt my brain. Like the double shielded resisted moves versus the Tenta or the coming in with Gligar instead of Poli versus Steel Wing Skarmory. This trainer got away with murder. 😅
hey dan, i recently submitted a team into the link, this was my first time using this team and had 2 major misplays, one being throwing grass into mantine instead of thunder, tonight im gonna try the same team and if it still works ill submit another link giving more variety and probably better gameplay as its not my first time using this team, no worries if you are not interested in the battles i understand not all will be showcased but was just giving a heads up
im jb2112jusr
this is my second season in gbl so my plays are far from perfect, and emolga and ferrothorn are both new pokemon to me so im interested to see how the team fairs as i learn to play it a little better these coming sets
Its random man. That guy probly is really good against a lot of pokes but just doesnt know the particulars of every matchup.
Battle of 300 Elo.
Hey Dan, would a double flyer team like Dragonite, Skarmory and Whiscash work?
Skarmory/Whiscash/Anything works. Meta slave! 🚨‼️
So if you have back to back, you don't throw back to back? I can't use 2 charged moves in a row without allowing them to get a fast move? Then why do people always charge back to back close combat/wild charge and not get knocked out in between?
Because that way they just take one fast move with lowered defense as opposed to taking 5, 6, or however many while you build up to a 2nd one.
"Fast move denial" is when you throw a charged move and they don't get a fast move through (like you asked about). It's a bug and almost never happens anymore.
@@EthanS151 so they still always going to be taking 1 hit in between close combats no matter what. So they just super lucky the fast move wouldn’t kill them in between. Maybe back to back isn’t good
@@EthanS151 so they still always going to be taking 1 hit in between close combats no matter what. So they just super lucky the fast move isn’t killing them in between. Because even if you think you know the counts and damage every pokemon has diff IV’s. Maybe back to back isn’t good
It's not as simple as a yes or no.
If the energy is uneven, you can go back to back with only 1 fast move going through. So lets say you have a 4 turn fast move, they have a 5 turn, you have two charge moves. You can throw 1 four turn move then a wild charge and then a second wild charge after winning CMP. However, if you throw the second wild charge and they throw a fast move, they will get that fast move through and that damage registers after the second wild charge
@@DanOttawaPOGOthis is true most of the time. The only exception is when the fast move that “sneaks” does enough damage to KO. In that case, the 2nd wild charge won’t get off
