not necessary, but I had an accident that made me wish i had one on there before. i got my pump from Harbor Freight

Awesome videos Jake! I noticed your lathe spins towards you versus away like my lathe does. Do you always use it this way? Ive seen lathes with a reverse switch, is this how you get this to happen?

I spin mine in reverse most of the time, just a habit. yep, just need a reverse switch

when I turned my pump on the blow tube on the pump side gets super hot... tips?

you're letting hot air get sucked into it, melt the lip down and seal it to inner tube, then turn on your vac and vac the whole tube
