Hi Alex I am from Chennai, India. This is an admirable initiative. Self defense class for ladies is so important. I loved Hawaii five-o very much. I love this guy
I'm always glad to see women deciding to empower themselves by learning self defense. However, I personally would not teach someone to spin around and turn turn her back to the assailant. I understand the intent is to break free of the grasp and to run to safety but there are certain dynamics involved here that could prove to be fatal. Such as, the small mini steps that it takes to spin around may have to occur on uneven ground or near a tripping hazard like a parking block, shrubbery, tree roots, etc. Also, turning your back to the assailant while practically shoulder to shoulder could result in a lucky elbow or backfist strike which these ladies may not be prepared for. But still, any action is better than no action and with enough practice in different environments, these ladies could probably do okay.
I tried to get a class set up for my school because where I live there has been alot of rapes attempted kidnappings and murders and kids don't know how to defend themselves against sexual assaults and attacks we know what we have learned in regular fights not with a grown person

@VTV SD i was just thinking the same thing. Like how would someone like me who uses a wheelchair escape? Cuz i've had situations where the person would grab me and id break free but just long enough for them to grab my chair. So its like what do i do then? Cuz then they'll hold my wrists against the handles on my chair. So i definitely would need to know what to do in a situation like that. Like not just the twist thing but what to do next to make sure u have that few seconds u can get away.
