Mt.Tateshina is one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan. At the northern foot of the mountain lies a vast expanse of land at an elevation of 600 to 700 meters.
Bordering the Kakuma River that flows from Mt. Tateshina into the Chikuma River, the west side is called the Yaehara Plateau, and the east side is called the Mimakihara Plateau.
The area is made of high-quality clay land, so it is mainly used as rice paddies. However, due to the relatively low annual rainfall of approximately 1,000 mm, the rice fields are faced with the problem of a lack of essential water, so the area is dotted with numerous large and small reservoirs.
This video was recorded by traversing these Yaebaru and Omakibaru lands from west to east.

長野県の東信地区もよくドライブに行くのですが、まだまだ行ったことが無い知らない道路がたくさんありますね。この動画の途中で通った長野県道40号の北側区間や千曲ビューラインもいつかは全線走破してみたいです。
しなの鉄道の小諸駅の西側の一部は地方の鉄道では珍しく高架になっているので、立体交差部分だけパッと見たら都市部の鉄道の雰囲気みたいですね。これはJRの信越本線の時代から既に高架だったと記憶しています。そしてこの先の市街地の一部も路面が整備されていて、宿場町らしい雰囲気なのがまた良いですね。北陸新幹線誘致で失敗に終わってしまった小諸市ですが、都市整備にかなり力を入れていることが伺えます。

立科町と言うと五輪久保リンゴで有名ですが、今年は夏から秋の高温小雨のせいで実の熟成が悪く、不出来な年でした。国道254沿いにある道の駅でいつも蓼科リンゴを購入するのですが、今年は入荷が少なく、あっても20個入り一箱が6,000円というトンデもない年でした。さて、八重原・御牧原ですが相変わらずの迷路ですね。チラチラと千曲ビューラインが見え隠れする珍しいコース取りでしたが、積雪もある中、無事小諸まで到着したようで良かったです。
12:40　五輪久保リンゴ園が続きます。
20:25　芸術村公園には梅野記念絵画館がありますが、時々面白い展示がありますよ。
21:43　3分ほど千曲ビューラインを走りましたね。
46:48　左折すると布引観音、東御市方面となります。

以前の装置は強風でも鳥やセミの声が聞こえて面白かったですね。
