They are so cute. They look like little toys you could stick in an Easter basket. Such great tips.❤️🤗❤️
Total Easter basket decoration 🐣
I could never not have a parrotlet they are THE BEST! I have one that is a little velcro bird and one who is a little more independent but is still really tame.
Agree! They are wonderful!
Love my parrotlet very much he is a warrior. So independent got him at 7 months not tame. Named him baby Dracula had bites all over my arms for 2 weeks. small price to pay patience and lots of scatching his head and beak. I made sure I didn't his spirit he loves everyone. Good luck and get a little bird with a big personality.
Good for you! Yes, I call them vampires! But wonderful vampires!
Cute precious babies 💕
Their colors amaze me!
Looks like you're in Florida? I am too! I'm having the hardest time getting my bird used to me. I'm a stay at home mom and I have done a lot of these things for an entire month. Stay by the cage most every day, feed by hand, I started closing the cage so he can't go back in there out of fear and let him go back in once he's calm. He's so timid and still scared. He was in a pet store for a long time with no interaction. He's 19 months old. I sure hope he comes around soon.
Get a 2nd one that is younger, makes a big difference because they’ll bond to you
Thanks!
Sure!
I’ve had 4 over about a 9 year period. Two suddenly got sick and died. I took one to the exotic vet and it cost me a grand total of $464.00 which included the exam, vitamin shot and liquid medication. I was floored by the bill. My parrotlet died a week later. I gradually paid off the bill but am now pretty wary of buying another one and having this happen again. 😢
Sorry to hear that and sorry about your loss.
Sorry for your loss.. green cheek conures are pretty hardy. One day if your ever ready for another bird buddy.
Amazing video and thank you very much
Thank you for saying so!
Does that work for a parrotlet that you know anything about it . I purchase the little bird from someone who only had it a week and changed his mind. So I don't even know how many homes my parrotlet had.
Yes, it’s still applies
What did you mean when you mentioned a harness?
czcams.com/video/buqDvrBvxH8/video.html
See if that helps
@@ParrotBliss you think this will help tame? I put them on before
@@TDods21 harnesses aren’t used for tanning, although I suppose they could help. They are for being able to go outside. I have use them to tame a Conure as we go outside, so could be!
I’ve been researching to find a good parrottlet breeder near me but haven’t had any luck ! Unfortunately I’ve only found only 3rd party “middle man” type people. We live in Woodland Hills, California (just north west of downtown LA) - anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance! X
Have you looked online for a breeder?
Magnolia Bird Farm in Riverside or Anaheim
And also: what’s the best age to get them at ?
I just purchased a green one yesterday. Breeder said it was 3-4 months. I’m from Ventura. We drove to garden grove.
Found him on Craigslist Orange County- city garden grove
As a weaned baby
congrats!
Hi wot about hand feeding
It’s best to be trained by someone who knows how to keep the babies from aspirating
i wouldnt wanna try a harness millet seems to be working for mine.....i will just try and persevere but a harness nope......
Gotta do what works for you and your parrot and keep at it. Sounds like you are on track!
@@ParrotBliss im not having a go at you but personally i think trying to get a harness on a parrotlet would be stressful but mine were bought from a pet store though ive never tried to grab them though......but im trying to bribe them with food......it might work better with a hand reared parrot or a bigger one though..... so yeah i guess it depends on the bird 🐦 🐦
@@angelwitchywildingrocco yes, that can make a difference. And ultimately, it’s just about whatever works really well for any bird, parrotlet, or another one, so that the owner and the bird are both happy and can create a bond. I have some birds that I can harness, I have some that I can’t. It’s all about the bird!
@@ParrotBliss yeah thats true really.....last thing my 2 can remember is some pet store person grabbing them.....and i havent even tried to put hands too near them really......but hopefully in time they will be ok.....and your right every bird is different some have hatched to be around people and some havent really.......i have won over 2 parakeets so with some luck they will be next :)
P let 2 Yrs old is possible to tame?
Absolutely!
Mine loves being with me and snuggling up to my neck riding around on me. But he absolutely does not want to be touched :( he is only 6 months I have had him 3 months. He had been hand raised. but not handled in a while when I got him. He watches my female be handled step up head scratches sleep in my palm and still no hands allowed.
They do all have their own preferences - this may change but if he snuggles, you will probably enjoy scratching the female and having the male at your neck. That is wonderful!
