  • Mahamudra, a Kriya-yoga technique is described and demonstrated by Swami Nityananda Giri, Kriya-yoga Acharya (master) and author of the book, Kriya-yoga- The Science of Life-force.
    It is strongly advised that these videos are for demonstration and clarification purposes only and that any serious seeker should learn the techniques from a Kriya Yoga Acharya. Since any unguided practice in the initial stages could be harmful and hence initiation and learning in person is a must for Kriya Yoga practice.

    Pranam swamiji , I am student
    of yss. I have done whatever master ( paramahansa Yogananda) has taught in lessons. But I am facing bad kundalini experience, pressure in head and ajna chakra, movement in base of spine, burning eyes etc... I was a faithful devotee of god till now. But now I am feeling is there really god ? Then why is he not guiding , there are lakhs of people suffering from premature kundalini awakening. Doubting god , after faithfully believing him till now, is like losing my close friend.

    May I ask can a person suffering from arrhythmia or bradycardia, or cardiac ailments do breath retention,could u pls answer if possible with reference to each one, arrhythmia( dangerous and non-dangerous) Brady( those whose heart rate goes up and those whose heart rate has problem picking up and post heart attack, blockages, etc,thank u in advance

      In such conditions of cardiac ailment it is better not to practice breath retention, just watch the breath as it is.

    Actually one is supposed to always draw from the muladhara. That is the original Maha mudra.

    Hello Swamiji
    Thank you so much for your open informations.
    I'm begining to do the mahamdra in the kriya yoga practice, I'm not used to use the kriya pranayama breath with this posture and I have a question :
    I seemed to struggling taking long deep breathing as I'm through the posture .... And I need to take some normal breath while changing legs etc ... is this good for the begining or not ?

      You can take some normal breath while changing legs. By practice you Kriya breathing will be perfect while doing Mahamudra.

    Thank you for sharing. What is best to practice for a complete beginner, very ill, heart failure, arrythmias, thyroid, adrenals, immune system, liver, kidneys, pancreas, neurological symptoms, long list of health issues caused by one prescribed medication and vaccines 19 years ago? Trying to find either a meditation, mudras etc.. without contraindications to no avail.
    Taking no medications, no aneshtetics, no contrast dyet etc..
    Told by conventional doctors and a Qi Gong sifu, there are too many damaged cells, electrical pulses amongs cells do not function.
    Reacted to Pranayama breathing, minimal, slowly under supervision, acupuncture, Qi Gong healing and practice, homeopathy, and other types of energy healing. Told that prana is too low, fragile, frail, need to build up. But how?
    Grateful if someone could please help on what type of safe meditation, mudras, chanting, mantras, for a weak frail, beginner, mudra, chanting, mantras to perform without contraindications and to build up slowly and gently, regenerate damaged cells.

      Yes, you can 15 minutes focusing on breath. You can start Mahamudra keeping the contraindications in mind. Better to learn from someone so that you do it correctly.

I started feeling a cold sensation like a wave starting from my forehead and going down to whole body. After a week of this my forhead start aching and whenever i tried to focus on my forhead it started aching so i had to leave it , sir can you please give me a help in brief regarding this?

    in mahamudra we inhale from muladhar to sahastrar then swadistan to sahastrar and so on but what about exhale, is it in every step from sahastrar to muladhar.pl.explain.

    After seeing your video on Mahamudra, been doing the same for last 9 months, but had constant inflammation on the back side rib-cage, so stopped from last week, after stopping inflammation has gone.

      @@a2zadi let me know where are you from that is which city is nearest to you. Kriya is not like any other physical yoga to get good health. It is a path for truly spiritual seekers. One need a good enough mental preparation to walk along the path ,a long joyful journey with achievements over time. Pray intensively to Mahavter Babaji maharaj and Syamacharan Lahiri mahashaya to get a sadguru in this path ! You'll get soon.

    namasta swamiji....i had been practicing the maha mudra as u had explained and physically im fit to do the stretching. But when i inhale completely and bend and after i am back to the normal position while exhaling im feeling headach and it goes off once i start ujjai breathing for 5 to 6 times. is it normal. also if i do the maha mudra without inhaling and bending i do not have headach.

      As more energy is directed towards head region it is natural to have headache if brain is not capable to hold that much of energy. The situation aggravates if the practitioner has high blood pressure. On practice this problem will go for normal persons. It is always good to practice this after Hamsa Sadhana. Or one can practice some deep breathing before Mahamudra if he/she has such problem.

    Dear Guruji, with utmost respect and curiosity I want to ask-
    1. I have heard from many about the confidentiality of Kriya Yoga, which should not reach anyone without diksha and this sacred science shall not be made available to all. May I know your view on this?
    2. I am not initiated yet, but I am eager to practice. Can I follow your video tutorial to start it?
    3. Is it true that this path itself reaches the right candidate? (hypothetical e.g. your videos can't reach an undeserving candidate, and even if it reaches, they will never practice it or you have full control of it, being a great yogi).

      1. Explained it many times. These techniques are described in scriptures, hence not confidential.
      2. You have to choose. It is advised that one should take diksha and learn from an advanced sadhak.
      3. No, at least in this age of information. This may be a chance factor.
