It’s Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2024, at West Chicago, Illinois, at the diamond crossing of the Canadian National Railway and the Union Pacific Railroad Geneva Subdivision, protected by JB interlocking tower, one of the FEW manned towers remaining in the Chicago area (manned by the Canadian National Railway).
We see a southbound Canadian National Railway light engine move, three CN General Electric d-e locomotives. Then the crossing gates and crossing signals malfunction.
From 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm this was the ONLY non-Metra train coming through on the CN and UP lines!
The CN line is originally the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway.
