• While "The Rhapsody of Chivalry" doesn't appear in the main game, it does play during the Ultimate Battles for "Combat Challenge 2", "Skill Challenge 4", and "Ultimate Challenge 2 Battle 3".
• Sodachi Nobuyasu replaces Sodachi Hidetake, who is more or less the same character but a Toyotomi rather than a Sanada.
• "Pray Me -Revive-", "Town Bully", "With Vengeance", "Pledge of Demon", "Sounds Storm" are reused songs from older LAD games, from 'Yakuza Kiwami', 'Yakuza 6', 'Yakuza 0', and 'Yakuza 3' respectively. - Hudba
That Pledge of Demon was not remaked gives me the idea that it's actually Kuze himself and he somehow time-travelled back to fight Kiryu's ancestor

When I heard the remix of Fly from Yakuza 3, I legit had to pause the game and take a minute. I was almost crying when I heard this theme. Yakuza 3 is my favorite game of the whole series, and hearing this remix was like a love letter to all the Yakuza fans who were around when Yakuza 3 first came out in 2009.
There is no bad theme in the game, remixes like Soar slaps so hard. What an shame that RGG studio didn't give Toshizo an dynamic intro.
I think it simbolizes that this time Mine is actually a really trustworthy ally from the begining to the end

i just finished the game like 2 hours ago, i was happy they kept pledge of demon, they were like "yeah this song is good enough it doesnt need a remix" also glad thomas glover got his 3 theme in this version

As someone who never played OG Ishin, I love the themes given to the Tennen Rishin Users (Essence of the Sword and Tonight's Piercing Tiger), the first is super tense, and the second one is so majestic, like Kondo Isami himself!

I’m not sure if you knew this but Rhapsody of Chivalry is actually still in the remake. I beat the game the other day and decided to take a stab at the ultimate challenge (climax battles). Imagine the shock on my face when I hear Rhapsody of Chivalry play for combat challenge 2. I can’t believe they shelved such an amazing song for post game content that only really big RGG fans will actually do
There's a part of me that does wish that Pledge of Demon got a remix for the game... but why mess with perfection? This is a stacked soundtrack and it's somehow still the best song on it. It's just that good.

Figured I'd give my opinion on the new tracks.
Pseudo Fight, Eternal Fire, Collision of our Swords, and Soar are absolutely amazing. Hell, I might like Soar even more than the original Fly.
Pray Me -Revive-, With Vengeance, Pledge of Demon and Sounds Storm are pretty good songs. Yeah, I kinda wish they just made Ishin remixes of those osts, but it's still good hearing them again.
However, one thing that bugs me is the use of Town Bully. I mean, seriously? A regular combat theme for a boss tune? Town Bully doesn't even have anything to do with Akiyama or Ryuji. I really wish they just kept Rhapsody of Chivalry.
Other than that, I am pretty happy with how the OST for Ishin Kiwami turned out. I was really worried that they'd replace Assassination of Bodhisattva with a remix of Two Dragons. Or worse, just flat out reuse Two Dragons. So, I am glad that those we're the only songs/fights replaced. I mean Before the Sasanqua Falls is really good, but it was also reused like hell back in the original Ishin.
I agree about wishing they made remixes of Pledge of Demon and With Vengeance. Idk why they made brand new remixes for Nagakura and Hijikata, when those fights are basically just sparring matches. But then they couldn't make new remixes for Ito and Takeda. Very strange, but it was still pretty cool to hear their Yakuza 0 tracks again I guess
Once I started playing I was a bit upset when I heard they didn't remix 2 dragons until I got to the boss fight and realized how wrong I was to be upset about it. Assassination of bodshivatta is a great song

Town Bully kinda fits into the drunken brawl theme imo. I was pretty surprised to hear it though.
@@okmate it is fitting, but i don't like the fact that they used it. Feels very weird. RGG usually reused assets appropriately, but I didn't like it this time. Especially because I'm pretty sure this fight had its own unique soundtrack in the original, so there was no reason to replace it.

I love the buildup for Collision Of Our Swords, it's got such a strange vibe. For how little Sasaki and the Mimawarigumi featured in the story, I really liked the parallels between them and The Shinsengumi

I kind of get the vibe from the start of Saigo’s theme that it sounds really similar to Assailed From All Sides from Dead Souls
I'm satisfied with most of the soundtrack. Assassination of Bodhisattva wasn't replaced in favor of a Two Dragons remix and the new songs are amazing. My mayor complains are Town Bully replacing Rhapsody of Chivalry (why? it doesn't make any sense) and that Pray Me Revive, Pledge of Demon and With Vengeance didn't get the Ishin treatment with traditional instruments. Don't take me wrong, I love them all to my core but they are out of place. This is not 0 nor Yakuza 1/Kiwami. Some shamizen and taiko drums and less techno would have helped, I know RGG composers have the talent to make them work into the song and amaze us. My personal take on the names given the context of the game (any suggestions are welcomed):

I'm really happy they didn't change any of the unique tracks that were already in the game (except for replacing Rhapsody with Town bully, that's bs) the only track that got replaced was the normal boss theme which is still used throughout the game so it's fine

@@manukau5271if it’s the same 3 in Fushimi I was stuck on, 71, 38 (iirc), and 72, you need to collect every memoir for Satow (Bacchus). Youll have to give him 92% of them to trigger 71, and after you finish 71, 38 opens up. After you complete you can get the last one. And once you give him the final one it’ll trigger the final substory. There’s a guide that’s got all of them if you Google it, just remember the last one you can pick up is the one in front of the locked door on the forest path.

well,in the original game,most of the boss fights use ''Before the Sasanqua Falls''.I was very surprised that they actually decided to change in this version.I cried when I heard remixed Fly and other reused songs.The only replacement I don't really like is the ''Town Bully'',the original game used different song (任侠狂詩曲 The Rhapsody of Chivalry) ,which was better and fit the wild fight scenerio.
Im still playing through the game, im on chapter 12 or 13 right now, but my 2 main gripes are
A.) the use of Town Bully in the Ryuji/Akiyama fight, it just doesnt make sense, and
B.) the lack of dynamic intros, like you're telling me that Tokugawa, one of the most famous Shoguns, gets a kamehameha but not a dynamic intro, or even QTE?

Having Town Bully play for Katsura/Saigo is such a weird, and pretty dumb decision tbh. It's the most random song choice they could have chosen, it kinda took me out of it for a moment. I wish they just kept the original in. I felt similar about With Vengeance and Pledge of Demon, but to a far lesser extent. Idk why they didn't make new remixes for them, even though they did it for Hijikata and Nagakura. But it was still pretty cool to hear those songs again. Same for the other reused boss themes from old games.
I like the new remixes, but what exactly was the point of replacing The Rhapsody of Chivalry with Town Bully? It's great and all, but doesn't seem fitting as a boss theme.

Hot take: I don't like how they put old themes in the game. FM Soundstorm, fine, i kinda missed this theme from 3, but every other song feels out of place. Pledge of Demon and With Vengeance are a prime example of this, they fit perfectly in the themes of Zero, while in the context of Ishin they feel kinda wrong. Especially With Vengeance for me.
general consensus seems like it was a “too good to remix” decision which is agreeable enough for pledge of demon at least imo, but I do agree that they should have made ishin versions for time period and even nostalgia’s sake. I mean listen to Soar - it’s goddamn AMAZING, and does make me wonder what pledge of demon could have sounded like if it were remixed officially.

It is their theme, however it doesn't play in the main story. It plays in the Ultimate Battles
