Nice job Mr. Aledort. I played it and my dad was sitting on the sofa and told me I sounded just like Neil Young. Made my day. God Bless Mr. Aledort, and rock on!!!!!!!
For those complaining about the commercials -- wake up boys and girls. Those commercials are what makes all these wonderful FREE lessons that we are enjoying possible. I particularly find the reference to "fascist," amusing. Apparently the writer has no idea what the term "fascist" means. Dictionary is suggested.
Who's complaining? Stfu
Neil Young was such an artist. Great contribution in the music industry, in the 60's and the 70's.
I'm pretty sure that it was both Danny and Neil that played guitar on this song. Danny normally has a cleaner tone, listen to his rhythm guitar on Down by the river and Cowgirl in the sand. It supports the song and isn't overplayed at all.
Looooove that Strat! Awesome lesson!
Great lesson & cool tone. I dig your guitar. Thanx.
awesome job man i like this guys how tos!
the last part of that song is literally the most badass thing i have ever heard in my life
Your Fender is GORGEOUS!
thanks a lot, it helps me...great!!!!
Thanks, bro that was the best explanation EVER!
This guy is the bomb transcriber.
nice tone. You da man!
Wow, and I thought I was playing this somewhat correct. I play by ear (which apparently isn't that good) haha. I wasn't aware of the drop tuning and have been playing this with standard bar chords, which for the most part sounds right. There is a portion I couldn't figure out and now it makes sense why. Thanks for the video, great lesson.
Rock on man!
andy james= awesome
andy from PGS=awesome
andy from guitarworld cannot be anything but awesome!!
I'm not a guitar player but this is great information, nicely done!
Thank you for sharing. Could you play the whole song out sometime just so we could hear it? Because it's a really cool song.
You are a very good teacher. And I love your T-shirt. (even if I ride a Norton)
that is very cool.
5th pedal magic!
You rock brother. kudos
It might sound to weird or something if I try it.
Dude you are the best at explaining clearly the tuning aspect. Awesome Strato- amp setup are you using?
Very good work. Very clear and well done. At the beginning you say that Crazy Horse has two guitar players, Danny Whitten and nils Lofgren. I think that Nils never was in the line-up of Crazy Horse but in several other bands that Neil created. The second guitar player in Crazy Horse was Frank "Poncho" Sampedro if I am not wrong. He quit the band when Greensdale. Nevertheless, great job Andy!. Thank you
Manuel Sosa - You are mostly correct. Nils was an actual member of Crazy Horse for a time when they recorded on their own apart from Neil. He also played on When You Dance I Can Really Love which is a Neil with Crazy Horse tune but he was not a member at the time. You are right tho that Whitten and Poncho are the two "true" guitarist CH had with Neil. Poncho did noy actually quit before the Greendale record. Neil felt the music only called for one guitar so Poncho sat out the recording but did join them for the tour.
+1 for the triumph shirt
Thank you. I was having an issue counting this in from tabs.
One gets the impression the wear on your guitar was earned not bought in a store to "look cool".
@BuckHill87 true, but between Danny and Frank was Nils...he played in Crazy Horse on the Tonight's the Night record. Nils really helped Danny out, as he was really out of it at the end, so high....
that sounded nice
great done! what is about the distortion and amp ur using?? THX!
Awesome shit
Dat sound. I would kill for it.
Just get a distortion pedal and a tube amp and crank the bass and mids all the way up and turn the treble off to get that sound. Use the middle or neck pickup with the tone all flat on your guitar to make it sound even more nasty. Personally I think it sounds awful, but some people like it I guess.
sick guitar.. how did u get it to look like that? and thx for teaching me this
how did you get that tone? its pretty sweet
weres the rest of the song at??
DADGBD Tuneit to this to play this!
He's wearing a Triumph t-shirt, one of the canadian bands out there, that a boy Andy
What are you playing through? I wish my C-1 Diamond Series guitar sounded like that! It was all I could afford.
The only rock song ever to have a guitar solo played with 1 note Cinnamon Girl
@pabloclash its all on the guitarworld website.
I fucking love his guitar!!
Why does everyone skip the bridge chords?
Yep, I know, And they aren't difficult.
Really enjoyed this, but it stopped to soon, where's the bridge, and verses?
What about the rest of the song?
I believe, thought, that they use 'regular' tuning for the live performances. I could be very wrong.
@kurtmandos66 hey Duane Allman played on that, its more of interuptation not an exact cover
Triumph shirt (Y)
@TheMinistryOfDefense 'Regenerative braking' has been around for quite awhile, Google the term.
Sponsors will always get top of the list, as usual. BTW, Andy Rocks!
Where's the rest of the lesson?
Nils was around until a few albums later, Dannys voice is actually higher in the mix than Neils on the record was its safe to assume he does the guitar to.
Great lesson, but Frank Sampedro was the other Crazy Horse guitarist. Nils Lofgren played with Neil, but not in Crazy Horse.
Andy's into British bikes by the look of his shirt.
Please try to pay attention...if there is any.
Simply laughing at my fool @ss thinking how simple this looks and why I cannot play this like him...having a good time poking at it though! thank's!
I typed in "young girl guitar" and you popped up.Even though I was going for creepy, I did not excpect this insane level of creepiness.
I think you need sleep or coffee..thanks for the lesson anyways.
Nils Lofgren absolutely did not play on this album (Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere)
Hi I am John petrucci in 20 years and I am gonna show you how I would have played if I didn;t come from the pleiades
men i wnt your t-shiirt
jajajaj
Regarding the ads....couldn't they just have banners instead of annoying commercials being thrown in our face??
Jesus turn down the distortion!!!!!
Umm no. Have you listened to the song on the album? It IS distortion.
haha, i don't really get what the big deal is.
comic dog!
@blackskullbass I wouldnt know that.... Havent had sex with any of them...Didnt even know they were gay... And im not either...... But i'll just trust you...
Wrong....listen to it more.!
And...the rest of the song is....wth!!???
Yeah, this guy always plays just the first part of the song and never plays the rest. I don't think he bothers to learn a COMPLETE song. Doubt if he knows any songs all the way through. Pretty lame, he's impotent on guitar vids.
@garcemac Trust me, dude, you bring creepiness to an all new level. Just stop pretending to be a musician already and sell your guitar to a real player, not a playa.
So wrong
