The good old days
I graduated in 2011, worked a summer job and bought a Macbook for uni and later a Vita for fun off of my first earned money.
At the time I just used it to play hundreds of hours of Wipeout and not much else, then it collected dust for years, but during corona lockdown I found out about the modding community and ever since then is has been my go to retro(PSP is retro by now, right?) and old GTA machine.
Also, go for a 512gb sd card, 128gb will be full quickly and you'll face existential dread over having to delete games you're never going to play anyways, so you can download other games to never play.
Also, many Vita games don't run properly unless you overclock the Vita and manually change the rendering resolution or framerate cap (Jak&Daxter collection only runs at 30FPS with oc and framerate cap to 30 for example.)
Also get the mod to play PSP games in native vita res. It doesn't work for all games but when it works its amazing (for example with Wipeout Pulse and Pure).
It’s crazy that psp is considered retro now, it’s as old as the ps3 is. I already bought a 128 gb card 😬 I’ll have to do maintenance every once in a while. I’m definitely going to enjoy the vita as a media machine. Thanks for commenting!
just got a vita filled my 64gb drive (with games that i dont play) and thinking about getting 128-256gb sd card (for even more games to not play).
But my favorite thing from the homebrew community is the cuphead port

@@NitsujFG you need to get the files from steam or gog and you still have to overclock but the games runs fine on bosses only big issue is the run & guns. There is also a hollow knight port if you're into that not me personally

Nicee congrats on the vita I love the ps vita it’s such a nifty handheld I highly recommend getting a sd2vita since official memory cards are prone to failure and to not use auto plugin 2 it’s buggy and doesn’t tell you if plugins conflict with each other I’ve seen one to many issues because of that application
I was about to get plugin 2 but I didnt have the right cables. Is that the only way to overclock a vita?
