France 2022-05-27: Packrafting Durance 1/2

After having packrafted the Lower Guil river until its confluence with Durance, we continue on Durance in the direction of Embrun.
The first part of our descent of Durance is scenic and fairly quiet. After a while, we arrive at the Saint-Clément whitewater slalom course and notice a couple of kayakers exercising their skills. We make a first run through the area and experience some rapids with unexpected return currents. Intrigued, we decide to take out, walk back a bit and have another go at it. Maybe this is pushing our luck, since at one of those return currents we somehow manage to flip both our packrafts nearly at the same time. No harm done however, we are easily able to hold on to our paddles and rafts and get to shore a bit further.
