  • Slurry storage on Irish farms is a relatively new phenomenon. However, we know from incidents of animal and human fatalities that working with slurry can be a particularly hazardous activity.
Just one breath of Hydrogen Sulphide, the highly toxic gas produced during bacterial decomposition of slurry, when released suddenly during agitation, can be fatal to animals and humans.
By following the rules and best practices in safe slurry agitation highlighted in these videos, you will ensure that the risks associated with handling slurry on your farm are minimalised.
