In this video I pipe a few roses and 'stars' using the Wilton 1M and 2D tips or nozzles. I am doing this to show the difference between 1m and 2d tip. I pipe rosettes with both the 2d and 1M nozzles to show the difference.

The wilton 1M tip is sometimes referred to as the open star nozzle/tip. The 2d piping tip sometimes referred to as a closed star nozzle/tip.
What is the difference between Wilton 1M and 2D?
There is a slight difference between the two, the 1M gives a sharper definition.
What wilton tip do I use to make rosettes?
The 1m or 2D tip. Watch the video above to see the difference between the two.

Thank you so much Dear for this clarity because I ended up buying both 1M and 2D nozzles because I thought they were different only to find that they are basically the same
You're welcome
I swear I just was wondering this and ran across your video thank you
Glad I could help!
Thanks for showing the difference.I liked the closed nozzle roses.
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome
A very thank you for showing in details ♥️
You’re welcome 😊
For making stars, the open tip forms a sharp, single point. The closed tip makes a hollow, six point top. Also, placing the tip directily on the surface and piping from a stationary point is different with each style.
Yes, the open starter gives a sharper design
What is the thick cream you are using to pipe the roses?
Thanks
I appreciate ❤

I am a beginner baker. I find it hard to look for a 1M piping tip here in our city. I tried ordering from shoppee but got the shock of my life when the nozzles arrive coz these are the nozzles that are no use at all 😠😕
You can try on Amazon
So true 😭😂
We can't see details on piping because of the translation.
