I still miss my silver slk 320 - the manual shiftgear was more suitable for
a saloon car than a sporty car....a pretty decent day driver though.

I have a crossfire and it's the same 6 speed and engine combo. It's 'very good' for daily driving and the car is a lot more engaging than you would think.

@@sophisticated Here in Italy the 320slk was almost a bargain given the value for money on the preowned cars market.
At some extent the same goes for the early 350 slk in our days.
My personal rating is excellent,just I did not
appreciate the gearbox albeit the whole mech.
comes from a saloon car...so I had to be aware
I was driving a sporty car more than a sport car,however I had a great time with it.
The reason for choosing the slk? I really disliked the Boxter and the Z 3 :) :)

@@INDIGOBLUE555 weird because my gearbox feels able to handle anything. Unless you want to slam shift it into gear. It feels adequate and it doesn't feel out of place. My car is a 2007 though. Maybe it's a bit different.

@@sophisticated :) Well I admit driving in Italy (until
2010 2012) was probably a bit different from
driving the rest of Europe !
We already had speed limits and speed traps
of course, but still,back then,on our highways from Milan to the French Riviera,as I did as often as possibile, on fast cars we had tons of fun....flooring them to red zone for miles.
I mean that,speeding as at a raceway,some
issues can obviously surface..:)
Driving a 3200 Boxter I realized the steering and gearshifting came from a sport focused project,the 320 came from a multitasking project,working properly on a saloon car and still good for a lovely coupè as the slk was.
Again I remark I really miss my slk and no way
I'd go for a Boxter still today!

I would like to know from a current or previous owner of this car, if it's a very reliable;e one? I was told that these cars are very reliable. I did my online research and that seems to be what I've found about them. A guy locally has one for sale with 149K on it, and is 1 owner been garage kept and never driven in winter. Has had hydraulics on top replaced. As of the date of this comment, Kelly prices the car in its condition (Above Good) for $4318.00 but he wants $5700.00 I was thinking maybe $4400.00 is higher than Kelly. I'll see if he takes it, and he might. He's been listing the car for over a month. Hopefully, if too many tire kickers have made him motivated, he'll accept my offer.
