National Route 292 Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route Shiga-Kusatsu Road
This is a mountain road with spectacular views that passes through Shibu Pass, the highest point on a national route in Japan.
It runs from Gunma to Nagano.
On the Gunma side, there is Kusatsu Onsen. On the Nagano side, there is Shiga Kogen and Jigokudani Monkey Park, famous for its hot spring monkeys, making it an area with many attractions.
