Omg I’m just starting to do nails, and tomorrow I have an appointment for a white tip manicure with gel. I promise this helped me so much. I didn’t know how to achieve the look. THANKS SO MUCH
I really never thought of doing this with a dotting tool. Thank you so much for this technique! I have been watching your videos and I love how you really explain how to do a lot of things. You made doing nails much easier for me because I'm a beginner. Especially gel nails cause I find doing them much easier than acrylics. I also subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much!
9ninakapone thanks so much for the positive feedback! I'm glad you're benefiting from my videos :) if you're ever struggling with something give me a shout and maybe I can help you! Xo
Love how you demonstrated for different size nails. I always thought I couldn't have a French manicure because my nails are short like the first one. But now I can thank you. Also thanks for tip on capping the free edge on short nails. I always got polish on my skin capping because of the length
Nails with Courtney Crosbie no problem. I am actually sitting here going through your videos, I am going to be starting gel nails pretty soon, an I know you have great videos for this. Also going to try your overlay idea. I have nails that like to peel and break, hoping this will help me get a lil longer nails
lori dodge yes! My nails break quite easily, an overlay certainly fixes that. I've not broken a nail in about 8 weeks and they are getting quite long. Xo
Nails with Courtney Crosbie will definitely do it then. Just waiting on my packages to get here. Have my lamp and some of the stuff I will need. But no gel polish or gel yet. Dang mailman needs to hurry it up😁
Courtney, OMG can I tell you what a perfectionist I am and how much I love this technique!!! I've never seen it anywhere and I am so grateful that you have chosen to share this!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!
Thank You so much for this awesome tutorial. I recently purchased an Led light and have done own gel now (only two times). I am so happy with the outcome. But I would really like to do a French manicure and you made it look so easy. I will be purchasing a dotting tool and giving this a try! My mom and I Thank You 😀! Excellent, excellent tutorial!
Thanks woman, I needed to see this video.. I started thinking ...should I put regular white polish wait for it to dry and then add a gel top coat 🤷🏾♀️😂. You saved me a possible disaster lol!
+Sophie Mcadoo thanks! I struggled with a long French for much longer than a short, so I know each length poses it's own difficulties. I can't wait to see how people get on with it!
Omg!!! You're freaking amazing ! I just started doing my own pedis because I'm no longer a big fan of colorful nail polish although I do a pretty good job ..this will take it to the next level!!! Thank you 😊
Well, I'm an idiot. I thought you were talking about a different video. The app only shows me the comment and not the video 😂 I will update the description of this video to include the link to purchase the translucent polish! I'm sorry. Xo
i use the dotting tool to apply the hard gel and a brush for polish, im going to try the dotting tool for the polish, i just find when im using the tool with the hard gel it takes me FOREVER, maybe i don't have the right brush for cleaning up the smile line, ive ordered a bunch of different ones to try. Do you do the same for hard gel or do you have a different technique for pink and white gel extensions? thanks again!!
i actually ended up using a striping polish i just got from silcare and it worked great took me only 15 mins which is alot less then usual!! p.s i don't have instagram
I do my own french tips for years. I never knew you can use dotting tool, you did an amazing job! Now my question is I always have a problem when I coated the clear coat tends to wipe off the white, is there a specific clear coat I need to use? Becuase even when the tips are dried once I applied the white color it spread.
Hi just found this tutorial and found it really helpful. Can I ask do you cure the white in between the two coats on longer nails and then cure again before you top coat?
Thank you so much for showing this techic. I've wanted to do white tips on my nails for ages. I'm going to try it this evening. I'm new to gel nail. I'm still learning. Can you give me advice on gelling my nails. I seem to get brush strokes sometimes. Do I leave gel on my nails for few seconds and will it self level before curing? Many thanks. Great video. 😊 I have subscribed to your channel.
Hi! Welcome 🙏 to avoid brush strokes, you may need to just use a bit more polish. But there's a fine line between enough and too much. Also Try applying it with your brush more parallel to the nail, and use a feather touch. Most brands of gel polish self level but some of the more inexpensive ones are just rubbish. My favorite, canni, self levels and its not expensive. There's a link to that in my description if you want to change it up. It does take practice so don't be disheartened: )
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie I meant to add. I tried the dotting tool method and I can't seem to get it right. Maybe it's the gel polish I'm using. I will try it again. It's looks so easy with you doing it. Again thank you for posting this video and sharing ❤️
HI! 2 questions-- inbetween the BASE and the FRENCH WHITE-- what did you use? use mentioned the white would bleed if you put it directly on the base coat.. It wasn't clear what you used? Rose quartz? is a GEL polish between base AND french tip coloring?? ALSO-- do you ship to USA? THANK YOU!
I'm a bit confused. When you apply your second white layer (if needed) do you cure the nail and then apply the top coat or do you apply the top coat and then cure them both?
Thank you for showing this. The Rose Quartz - translucent polish link was great for ordering but the white polish goes to general ordering for all polishes. Can you fix link to White polish? Thank you.
Hi, I do the exact same steps but the white tips peel off everytime. I even use a bonder, make a reaaaally thin base coat layer.. I don't know what to do I love french manicures please help
Sara-Ann Piscopo try to do your white layers thinner, white is difficult to cure properly if it's too thick. Usually that's why gel peels, it will happen especially if you don't cap the free edge as well.
+Legna Koorbloh Hi! Thanks for popping a comment on. In answer to your question, it's 4. I popped things in 4 times during this video. I really appreciate your feedback and will keep that in mind the next time I pop a video on. 😉

Hoooooray! I love that 😍

Thank you for this! Doing my first French mani this evening and of course I wasn’t taught this at nail school.
Thank you for making that so easy! I’ve Struggled for years with this technique. You have so many good tips!!!
I heard that you can also use the round rip of a bobby pin in place of a dotting tool
Yes! That works a treat :)
I love this, I always have an issue with this. thank you.
Thanks for the tutorial. You explain each step so clearly. Big Help.
You're very welcome. Thanks for the positive feed back!

Awesome! I'm so glad it helped! Xo

Dotting tool for French?...game changer! Xx
right!!!
What is a dotting tool?...
A dotting tool is the little stick I use in this video, it has a small ball on the end that creates a dot with the polish :)
Love this thank you great to see it with different lengths too .
+Sophie Mcadoo thanks! I struggled with a long French for much longer than a short, so I know each length poses it's own difficulties. I can't wait to see how people get on with it!
nail tutorials with Courtney Crosbie tempted to do my own but start new job Wednesday where I can't have anything on my nails :(
+Sophie Mcadoo Oh no! I hate jobs like that. How very selfish of them. 😂😂

Can I use a second coat of base coat as a "clear coat" substitute?
Kindly, an at home, self manicurist mom. 😅
You can buy it will need wiped off with alcohol to remove the sticky layer, it won't be shiny and it won't last as long x

fantastic demonstration thank you! also could you do baby boomer nails thank you!
+RiRi Ray yes, I will make a baby boomer video...once I figure it out! I've only ever done it with acrylic. Xx
What is a dotting tool and where do you get it?
I'm a bit confused. When you apply your second white layer (if needed) do you cure the nail and then apply the top coat or do you apply the top coat and then cure them both?
Always cure each layer independently. If you put topcoat over wet polish, it's going to smudge it.
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie Oh, ok! Thank you so much for your immediate response. :)
Thank you for showing this. The Rose Quartz - translucent polish link was great for ordering but

What you call the needle looking that you painted the lines for the French nail?
Hiya, it's called a dotting tool. Xo
Only video on CZcams that shows actual people’s nails- very short, medium to long length
Thank you for noticing ☺️ I think it's important to be realistic!
where can I buy this doting tool? this is so cool , ty
Hiya, it's just a standard dotting tool. Amazon or eBay have a variety depending on your budget. Xo
What dot tool is that?
I don't know, just a cheap one off ebay probably. This video is really old so I cant remember exactly but I know it won't be anything fancy.
What top coat do you use?
I'm not sure what one I used here, I t was probably MIG. I'm using premier gel now though :)
Are you a nail tech ?
How long are you curing for please? X
+Nina Lynch hi Nina, I have a led lamp, so I'm curing for 60 seconds. If you have a uv lamp, cure each layer for 2 minutes x

No such thing in France.
They are too classy for these tacky Pamela Anderson nails. They either wear clear or red.
Brilliant. Thanks for your input.
It was invented by a nail tech in California, in the 1970’s, and just called “French”.
