But that's how you as "Debt Free" get devalued/stolen from.... by increasingly and continuously debasing the Loonies you saved to bail out those in DEBT up to their eyeballs buying anything/everything with credit that they will never be able to repay supporting the system ?
Don't get me wrong, assets that hold 'relative' value at any given point in time vis-a-vi the constantly debasing currency are always good..... but make no mistake here, even 5% T-Bills suggest CASH is rapidly losing purchasing power regardless of any posted cpi inflation.
Once CBDC's emerge from necessity..... those who are Debt-Free/Saved will be the worst off relatively speaking.

Its called citzenship through investment and money laundering. If a Canadian citzen goes to the bank and wants to deposit $20,000 cash, they will want you to prove where it came from, may not take it or charge you a fee for depositing cash. If you get a $2 Million transfer from Kiev or Tehran, no problem. Its one of the reasons the market won't crash. The people, companies etc. laundering $30 Billion annually through Canadian real estate don't care if they buy high or if they are getting a deal. They just want to do the laundry and wind with with clean clothes at a Canadian chartered bank.

I was watching Schiff yesterday, he had some opinions on the last Fed chair meeting. Like why does Powell have to bring down inflation to 2% if it was 8 or 9%. "We have to bring it down to 2%" Why not bring it down to 0% or even deflation @ -1, -2? I mean if we had all that 9% inflation, don't we have to go further down than the 2% target to try and overshoot the high inflation we experienced?
Powell's response, "No. (we never average down high inflation, we only average up if inflation is 1%). We only average up past low inflation, never average down past high inflation. It's always just 2%. Something's missing here. So, in other words, you are still an inflationist?
