    Thanks so much.! I love the physical pixel art but sometimes I don’t like the look of the perler beads
    So this flat melt is amazing!!

    You got me into this hobby. I’m normally into drawing and painting, but making these is so zen. Completely relaxes you and puts you in a flow. I’m still working on my first one (diddy kong DKC2 sprite). I still gotta buy an iron to melt it. I was wondering if it’s possible to melt those little pinhole sections that didn’t melt completely flat cause I’m in the camp that doesn’t like the look of the beads. I like the look of the flat melt where it looks exactly like the in game sprite.

    • @gracecrosby730
      @gracecrosby730 Před 10 měsíci +6

      It’s called a cricut machine, it’s like an iron, because the bottom heats up, but it’s completely flat with no holes or divets that may be cool spots, so even heating. They also have more surface area so larger perlers can be done quicker

    you probably won't see this but what if you used a perler frame to poke holes more quickly?

    • @beadamonpixels
      @beadamonpixels  Před 8 měsíci +1

      It all depends on your tape. For masking tape I’d Recommend using a plate but when you remove the tape, the perler is going to have a lot of sticky residue and it’s hard to get that off. I use painters tape, which leaves no residue but it’s too thick to use a board to make the holes. That’s the trade-off.

    ironing the beads evenly has proven the most challenging for me, then again atm i am using mini beads as i didn't read when i bought my 1st kit the big letters mini that are on the box in the picture on Amazon XD big face palm am i right?.
    I am ordering some regular sized beads now especially for larger designs.
    The Gen 1 Japanese Black and White Dragonite i did used probably 2500 beads but it didn't go so well when i was ironing the large design.
    i definitely should of used tape but i was too afraid i would mess it up if i did and then what happened? i messed it up while trying to iron the large design with my small iron because there wasn't anything sticking it down XD.
    now i have to sort all the beads that weren't stuck together back into my box which will take ages since there is probably still 2000 beads left over from the fail (i only got one of his wings and his tail ironed out unfortunately).

      He made a video about this, what can happen is air will get trapped inside the perlers, and when it expands from the heat it can make a mini explosion that can leave holes in the smooth side of the perlers.
