- Once of the project i really wanted to do with my Proxmox Server. Setup PXE Boot for my Raspberry Pi's
Watched a bunch on videos from YT creators (@Level1Techs @GaryExplains and others) Followed every single step and still ... for some reason i could not get PXE Boot to work.
When you have an idea or you have a problem to solve, there is a big chance that someone already do all work for you. PXE Boot is no exception. Tech Byte Tips over at GIThub created a script which will do almost everything for you. And it is super easy to use.
In this video i will show you how to use that script and what you need to change / update / install to make it work with Proxmox LXC container.

Hiho. Do You know that is possible to boot RP zero W with this method?
can you do PXE boot on a Synology NAS there is nothing on this toipc on youtube .
super useful content, thank you. Please try not to rush your talking, it makes a little bit difficult to follow you 😊
Thank you for your feedback.
tbh, i thought i was speaking slower then usual ...
Looks like i will have to dial back a bit more for future videos :)
You can always choose at what speed you play the video, I use this all the time
Thank you for this tutorial!
I encountered some problemi with a raspberry pi5;
when booting, it finds the server and the image, but it says something about the OS not being compatible.
I added "os_check=0" in "/PXE/boot/sn/config.txt", and then it says that it can't find a device tree.
Or something related to the device tree, the reload loop is too quick to read!
Did anyone else stumble on the same problem?
Actually, next reboot it stopped letting me read on the screen:
TFTP 1: file /PE/boot/serialnumber/kernel_2712.img not found
fs_open 'serialnumber/kernel2712.img'
And 4 similar entries, then:
BOOT ERROR: code 7 - ' Kernel or device-tree not found or is not compatible'.
I have never did this with RPi5, i do have one spare - i need to test this out and see what is happening.
Which OS you are using?
@@MRPtech the latest one.
On the github page There's an issue almost identical to mine.
IT appears to be related to latest firmware based on Debian 12!
Did you use a firmware based on deb 11 on the tutorial?
Thank you very much for your tutorial and your answer!
Any ide how can i export an image in .img format from this server?
