- I made a puzzle using my Cricut Explore Air 2, a cereal box, and some sticker paper. This one is of Taipei 101.
Cut settings I used: 2 passes with fine tip blade at max pressure.
If you would like to purchase the digital file I used with the Cricut, you can find it here!

Best diy I’ve seen & I’ve been looking for 2 hours now. Thank you!
Thanks!
Dang, that was amazing!!! 👍👍👍
Thank you so much. Straight to the point I will be using this method to make a birthday gift 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Of course! If I were to do it again, I would definitely make sure I used a deep cut blade instead of the fine tip, and also make sure that there aren't any very acute angles to cut, so that the photo doesn't lift up as easily. Good luck!
Very helpful video! How long did this take you? And what was the approximate total cost of the tools you used?
Thanks for this amazing video. Been wanting to make a customize puzzle as a birthday gift and I've been looking for such a video ever since I got the idea yesterday. Glad I fell on this. Be Blessed. 😍
Thanks! Let me know how it turns out!
Great tutorial. Not all that unnecessary steps and unneeded chatter. 1 question was the puzzle template yours or you picked a random one from Cricut. I want to try this this weekend. 😍
I designed the puzzle template myself. I actually posted the file on Etsy if you want it!
This is so cool! Have you ever tried heavier cardboard, chipboard, wood, etc.? And have you ever tried making a bigger puzzle by doing four sections this size? Obviously all four sides couldn't be straight and lining up the photo to overlap on the jagged sides just right might be tricky, but I imagine it could be done. And this sticker paper looks larger than standard letter size or does it just look that way with your beautiful close-ups? Thank you.
Thanks for watching the video! I'm glad you liked it! I actually ordered some chipboard that was 8.5 x 11 but haven't gotten around to trying it out...too many projects to do! I think it would take many many passes and am worried that the sticker paper would get damaged in the process. I don't see why it would be an issue extending the puzzle over multiple cuts to do a large format, that's a good idea. The sticker paper I used was a standard 8.5 x 11 in size.
@@CitySideGig Thanks so much for your prompt and thorough response. Reply with a way to send you some money, like PayPal or Zelle, and I'll donate a little. I've seen other videos where the chipboard did exactly what you feared, but I was curious if anyone else had had success. I really want to try a multi-section one that's bigger than this, but haven't made time yet. Thanks again.
Thanks for the thought! It really isn't necessary. I wouldn't know how to send a private message through CZcams anyways, lol.
@@CitySideGig I use printable vinyl
@@CitySideGig Would you be willing to sell this file to others (i.e. me) who would also like to create a puzzle?
What setting are you cutting the cereal box on? Did you make a custom setting? Thank you!!!
I believe I did 4 passes under max pressure with the explore air 2 with the fine tip blade. If I were to go back and do it again, I think I would use the deep cut blade. Let me know how it goes!
That cool and I wish you made a puzzle of cereal box that be cool yeah also how do you get that from the one you cut straight size
Sorry, I'm having a difficult time understanding the comment.
Should we call a doctor?!
I never thought to do it this way to cut a bigger puzzle with pic but was more details would be nice
What details would you like to know?
You answered them under someone else’s comment
hi that loos great. Which paper did you use to print the photo? Thanks
Any label paper should do the trick! Depends what kind of finish you want. There are diff levels of gloss or matte
Cool video....just wondering what is the device you use to cut the edges at around 0:46?.
Hi! It's a Fiskars Craft Paper Trimmer
is that a industrial grade machine? i mean to ask if you can use that commercially for volume production?
Nope, the machine is designed for home hobby use. People do use it for running small businesses tho.
@@CitySideGig good to know mate. Thanks a ton. i did not know such machine existed.
Where can I find one of these cutters
And is the sticker paper printed from a regular picture
If you search up cricut on Amazon you should be able to find their cutters. That's what I used. You have to order specific sticker paper but it can be printed on with a standard ink jet printer.
Thank you 😊
@@CitySideGig and also does it work on thicker than a cereal box
This is the easiest one I see so far
We're you able to make it work?
@@CitySideGig i have not tried it yet but soon
Where from I get this machine?
What program did you use to create the puzzle bezier curves?
Hi! I use Inkscape for the drawings. It's a free vector based program. Very powerful!
@@CitySideGig Thanks!
Hi, what sticker paper do you use?
Hey! I used label sticker paper for this project. If you search up "LabelChoice Full Sheet Shipping Sticker Paper 8.5" x 11" Adhesive Labels Matte White Shipping Labels Address Labels Stickers for Laser & Inkjet Printer" you should be able to find it. Good luck!
Could you please share a link for the same machine (the cutter), please.
It's a cricut explore air 2 but I would go for the newer versions now
show us what settings you used
I put it in the description. I believe I used 2 passes on the most forceful setting with a fine tip blade.
What setting did you use and what blade. More information would be greatly appreciated.
I used the standard blade and did 4 total passes at max pressure on the Explore Air 2. I think if I were to do it again, I'd go with the deep cut blade though because there was some tear-out.
Where I can buy cricut vinly cutter?
Hey! All major craft store around me have them like Michaels or Joanne Fabrics. You can also just order it from Amazon or straight from Cricut.
How long does it take to cut
It was so long ago I have no idea! I think the newer machines are faster too now. It does take multiple passes so a fair bit of time.
I would have gotten more out of this if you showed the settings, the glue or stickie stuff for picture or even talked instead of that music. It looked like it turned out well but tell us your process. Thank you
Hi! I absolutely detest the sound of my voice recorded, so don't think there'll ever be a time where I do a voice over. This was so long ago I forgot what settings I used. I believe when I made this, it was with a fine tip blade with 2-3 passes at the highest pressure setting that my Explore Air 2 could go. The sticky stuff I used was a 8.5" x 11" sheet of label paper that you can find on Amazon.
VEO QUE ERES DE SANTIAGO
Machine name
It's a Cricut vinyl cutter
How much cost to do the puzzle in telugu money
The project doesn't cost much to do, but you would need to invest in some plotting machine which can be a little hefty of a price
