- Early December finds me ticking off another North Norfolk mark, Salthouse.
This is a natural venue off the beaten track, so there are no facilities as such.

Thanks for watching. That table saves so much crawling round on the beach looking for stuff 👍
Poor ole dog, didnt look much impressed at the end of the video 🤣, thanks for making content this year, all enjoyable to watch - wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - up in Norfolk for a few days over the break but not sure freezing my nuts off for whiting fest is too appealing!
Thanks for watching..
I think she was so comfortable on her blanket, she was reluctant to move... A couple of treats and she was up and ready 😂
Just found your channel today love it have a nice Xmas 👍
Thank you very much. I hope to keep adding places from Suffolk next then into Essex where I grew up 👍
Yet another informative video David, looking forward to the Suffolk venues, my favourite is Dunwich been going there for over 40 years in the winter. 🎣
I like Dunwich as well. Decent parking and you don't need to walk that far. Can throw up all sorts too 👍
Another great little video very informative and like the table I’ll have to get one of those merry Christmas 👏👏👏🎣
Great Video, most informative, I am just back into sea fishing after 30 years. Your camp looks excellent set up and organised, but it would kill me carrying that lot. 🙂
Thanks for all the information brilliant to watch and learn.
Thanks for watching and your feedback. All my gear is fairly compact when I Carry on to the beach. The only problem is the dog that keeps stopping to sniff everything 😁
Lovely looking dog, bless her didcshe have a whiting for supper?,😅,kind regards Mike ,Norfolk. Tight lines.
Thanks for watching. She is a rescue so would basically eat anything, including my bait if I'm not careful. We did share a mackerel breakfast on the beach in an earlier video.
Good to meet you David and thanks for the chat & advice you gave me, I've already bought some new items to get me back in the sport and hopefully Santa should be bringing me some more 😉
Keep up the good work with the video's , have a good Christmas and look forward to the next instalment in the new year 👍
Was nice to meet and chat to you. Really glad your getting back into sea fishing again. Once you get started it becomes very addictive 😉. Have a great Christmas and a happy New year 👍
Hi mate you ok pal, well done on your session. I was out early Saturday morning and managed 2 stonking flounder on the humber. Cheers for all the tips n spot on vids. All the best n a very merry Xmas from GRIMSBY
Well done Carl. I've heard it's been fishing quite hard up there lately so 2 big flounders is a result 👍
Thanks for another quality video David. I hope you hit the magic 1000 subs in 2024, you thoroughly deserve it for all the effort you put in to help other anglers. I hope you have a great Christmas and I'll catch up with you in 2024. We should get out on the Broads in our boats and chase some Pike.
Thanks John. Getting there slowly but surely. I'm still laughing at your brother's story in your latest video 😂😂😂
I have cheap pretty rubbish gear, fish with braid, using a two or three hook flapper with bait generally being only Mackeral or Herring and seem to have a great deal of success. I serious wonder if we are over elaborating a simple sport…
You are right in many respects. You can catch just as much with basic gear and bait. The only thing I would say is you invest in better gear, it normally lasts longer and rarely lets you down.
@@david892006 You are probably right, but it’s such a harsh environment and wrecks things pretty quickly. But why bother to buy expensive Lug or Rag when most of the time cheap fish baits works better ?
@nevillej9408 ah sorry I thought you were referring to the tackle. Bait can be cheap or even free if you don't mind collecting it. Most of the time I use frozen baits, squid, fish, prawns and if I have frozen black lug. Lasts longer and no waste.
@@david892006 fresh black lugs are cheaper than the frozen offerings from the usual suppliers - but I agree its much cheaper and as effective to sling out squid which is my go to
Ever come down to the south east?
Thanks for watching. Depends where you mean by the south east. I was born and grew up in Essex. Been in Norfolk since 1982 👍
My plan is to finish Norfolk, move onto Suffolk then continue into Essex to cover the places I fished as a boy. Might be a while though 😉
