Homemade potato chips in 6 minutes?! In the Microwave?! ...my addiction to potato chips is about to become a problem!
Here is what you'll need!
Easy Microwave Potato Chips
Servings: 4
INGREDIENTS
1 russet potato
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, to taste
PREPARATION
On a cutting board, slice the potato into ⅛-inch slices.
Dry the potato slices with a paper towel until there is no more moisture.
Transfer the sliced potatoes to a bowl and coat in olive oil.
Wipe down a large flat microwavable-safe plate with olive oil to prevent the chips from sticking.
Place the chips on the plate in an even layer and sprinkle with salt.
Microwave the chips on high for 6-7 minutes or until the chips just start to brown. When the chips develop some color remove them from the microwave and slowly peel from the plate. If chips are sticking, they can also be flipped halfway through!
Repeat this process until all the potato slices are cooked.
Enjoy!

I've been making these for years, they're really good though. A note, do the microwave time in 3 min increments because they burn fast.
Thanks for the tip.
Alyssa Marie can you tell me what temperature of microwave tho?
Alyssa Marie can I use vegetable oil instead?
Jeune Viéve unfortunately I don't know off the top of my head but I just have a standard microwave.
Napoleon Contreras I usually use olive oil!
I saw this video and immediately made the chips AND HELL YEAH THEY TASTE AMAZING.
Santi12009 let us have a moment of silence for Santis microwave. 2004-2016. He was the friend everyone always wanted.
One problem with this is that you have to make many batches to get yourself and your friends a considerable amount of chips.
You might as well use the oven.
so if i use a oven, same exact steps? and at which temperature
Arseboth Well it's not hard at all to make, plus it's less time consuming so you'll be making more of these quickly than if you were to bake them.
Or do what normal people usually do, buy them from the store.
Ehab Shanan Yeah but I'd rather make them that way you know what's in the chips I mean we don't really know everything yhe, manufactures do to the chips because they don't have to tell us .. and it's cheaper considering you already have those items at home
i don't regularly have potatoes at home...then again im Asian
Finally something off of tasty I can actually maybe make without my house burning down!
they look like fried eggplant 😨😨😨😨
I thought it was a cucumber tbh
Somehow Varése lol
i thought zucchini
I love my art but eggplants are delicious especially fried with some salt ;-; 😋
عبدالله منصور yhhhhh
Any bold bakers here?
Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw the video.
It's like the zillionth video they have taken of hers! 🤦🏻♀️
Yep. I made hers and they didn't turn out great, but were still good
I had the same thought when I saw this video.
She didn't exactly invent the recipe tho.
Finally! Someone else puts chips on a sandwich besides me! :D lol
Oh jeez you’re one of those people
Btw that bread looks weird
@@justanobodyonyoutube3580 it's called brown bread 😑 not all bread is blindingly white with chemicals
A lot of people eat it in here in Ireland. It's SO GOODDD
@@justanobodyonyoutube3580 brown bread is pretty good
"Makes enough for one portion in only 2 hours"
So you're telling me that you eat about 788 chips in one portion?
Random Person yes
wow. The limits of someone possibly binging on Netflix or a TV show never cease to amaze me.
Random Person that recipe would only make about 230 chips in two hours. So yeah, easy.
if we take a close look at the fully sliced potato in the video, we can guess that there are 35-45 potato slices in one potato. Let's say that the slicing process takes 2 minutes max. including the microwave baking time, one batch of potato chips includes, at the very least, 35 potato chips made in 8 minutes. In an hour, you can make about 7 catches, already making 245 chips in an hour *at the very least*. And that's only one hour; multiply that by two, and you get almost 500, including error times, slacking off, and/or breaks. That's way off 230
that crunch and crispy ness is satisfying
Hi I just made them super easy and yummy thank you so much for making this video. The microwave homemade chips are very easy to make and provides a healthy way to eat chips without the fat I used extra virgin olive oil and instead of putting the slices directly on the plate I use parchment paper. Enjoy everyone.
I just made them... first recipe i ever tried and i must say they taste really good. Never questiong tasty again😋😋
thank you, i made these and my microwave lit on on fire!!!!
I used just a little bit of cooking spray and they turned out great!!!
I made these earlier, and they were pretty good. The only problem was that it took 45 minutes, 3 giant potatoes, and a lot of waiting just to get enough chips to last me though a CZcams video.
and how long was that video? 😂
Why 45 minutes??
Why does it take so long it looked easy and fast
LOOKS SO GOOD! Hot weather atm in England so I might make these whenever I have time! 💓
Wonder what they do with all the food they make 🤔
Alex Pokora do they eat it?
Alex Pokora No they sit on it
Alex Pokora do you have any idea of how big buzzfeed is?
why the f*ck u talk to yourself?
no they make porn
This just opend up a whole new gate way to life and food!
Even though I Did it late but here’s my experience. It does work but I did lots of mistakes, don’t add lots of salt it won’t disappear. The amount of olive oil doesn’t matter it’s just to help it cook. Do not wait till it’s fully brown in my opinion I hate it, just wait till it’s brown in the middle only. I added other things beside salt so you could do that if you want extra flavor and bon appetite 😊
thanks a lot. tried it today and they turned out amazing. didnt stick like they do in oven :D
just made it
OMG SOOO GOOD
THE BEST CHIPS
Nah, hold my soda, here how you do it:
Step 1: Acquire Lays potato chips
Step 2: Enjoy
No need for that microwave, it will blow up one day anyways
plus it's spying on you
Is this Rob (from threadbanger) saying this?
Donkey Kong the lit enemy Except people like myself dislike Lay's Chips. This is a healthier alternative also.
You mean buy a bag of air
maha fatima probably
Did think it would work, but it did and I’m impressed. They are so tasty.
I tried it...its really good👍
*crunch sounds intensify*
wow, slices potatoes so well!
Rockin' tunes, man.
I added a bit more seasonings on top and it was sooo good
There pretty good. Just make sure u actually lube up the plate with olive oil or your chips will stick to the plate.
Just tried it and it's a keeper.
thank u !! they taste so good!
i just made them they are so delicious 😋
made these today, came out decent. Taste exactly like chips but more work than it seems in this video.
CHEEZUZ FRIES! They are delicious! Defeating Anticrisp! And a very good length on the video. Thank you Sir.
omg they look so good
I just made a plate of these. They're good if you just want a small amount of a crunchy snack to fulfill a craving 👍
Using half a medium size potato, I got 18 chips onto my plate. I seasoned them with various spices. They taste good and are crunchy. However they stuck to the plate really bad so maybe I'll use more oil next time. It is quick, but it would take many batches to get a bowl of chips for sharing.
Definitely giving this one a shot!
I'm literally gonna make this right now. wish me luck😊!
This recibe is really good.
I tried it and I think you need to put in the maximun power because I did it with that “tip”
I would love to know what is the microwave temperature? Your using I have an old microwave. thanks for the recipe
I'm gonna make it now,
Wish me good luck!!
THAT CRISPY SOUND
I did this in cooking class today in 8th grade. The chips are exactly how they looked. They were also very good, so good that my whole group just ate them when they came out the Microwave
That was so great!
Awesome I can make that now
It really taste good!
very tasty I tried today also the spicy nuts really nice sweet and spicy and the nuts are done alot faster then the chips lol needed atleast 12 minutes total for one plate but it worked but our microwave does not go higher then 900 watt
damn, so trying this recipe out this weekend!
These are way better than regular chips make some for yourself ther are so good they are also good with garlic powder and cooked in the oven at 350 for 5 to 10 min
i tired this and it twas the best very crispy n tasted yummy
wow lol I literally just guessed how to make these 3o minutes ago. wish I woulda seen this
nice recipe
Can you use a variety of potato other than the Russet? (Specifically the Red potato.)
I'm not the only one who adds crisps to my sandwich omg
Sweet the good stuff
I bet they are Tasty !!!
Joel! JOEL! HAVE YOU BEEN PUTTING YOUR CHIPS IN THE SANDWICH AGAIN, JOEL? JOEL?!?!
so delicious
I make these.Wonder what caloric intake and glycemic index they are.
Imma go make this, first time i already have everything already in my house from tasty
Fun fact, you can use pretty much the same process to make microwave french fries, you just have to cut them differently. it's a little more work but totally worth it.
I've been making these for years
Can someone tell me how long to bake these in an oven?
Is this method using grill function or just ordinary microwave mode?
How much temperature have you set for baking?
Used to make these all the time, tip; if you don't like to use oil just use parchment paper cut to the size of the plate! works great, just don't leave some laying off the side or it will burn
Okay I’m making these because we have no chips In Our house okay so I made this twice and the first I added all the olive oil I wanted and it tasted so good that my siblings eat it but the second try I made for my dad but they were so soggy so I recommend you to add as much olive oil you want
So yummy good job 👍👍👍
so nice
I love how the person does it like that taste so good😦😦😦😦😦😦 I'm so hungry now lol omg😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Im gonna try this tomorrow cuz it just looks amazing and also im gonna try the parmesan potatoes-frenc fry ik that isnt the name of it but i cant remember the name
I made them and they turned out okay
What would be the caloric intake for a batch of these?
is it in a low or medium or high temp?
Nice
This works but make sure you're checking and turning the crisps every 2-3 minutes or they'll burn.
Can I use vegetable oil as a substitute?
amazing
does this work on sweet potatoes as well?
It's a 7/10, it's lays without the crispy thing but is still crispy enough.
Can we use regular Potato ??
Can this be done on a peace of parchment paper?
ive tried this. i subcribed becasue its tasty lol
made them and there deliocus
Doesnt the oil burn int the micro wave
Can we use normal round potato
Wow! This is so difficult
These were good one thing to do is cook them in small increments of time and use a salt shaker for the salt
Can I use replace olive oil with vegetable oil or canola oil? I really wanna make these!
NO
YOU CANNOT
@@STRIZZY-STRAY don’t worry I was cautious, I didn’t use any of those.
DEATH
can you do the same with sweet potatoes?
i just made this and they wont cook? just the really tiny ones (and they taste amazing omg)
does it work with sunflower oil?
I put salt, pepper,Tajin, lemon juice, you gotta season it well😂
that subtle Directv advertising
wait my microwave has Watt settings should i do it in 800 watt or 360 watt
navratri chips looking lit ..
OK so I tried this and the chips turned out really tasty (need longer in the microwave though, more like 9 minutes), but on the second batch my perfectly good IKEA plate cracked. Should have seen it coming as the oil needs to get really hot to get the chips nice and crispy. Tip: use a plate that can withstand higher temperatures or let the plate cool off in between batches.
fueling my lazy ambitions
Mr Not That Famous lolol
Can you put vegetable oil instead
does it work with sweet potatoes?
Would this work for zucchini chips do you think?
