I have had the Striker 60lb for 4 years used in sea water on a 5m clinker hull fishing boat (normally has 6hp-15hp O/B) but for night fishing around the mangroves the 60lb is magic probably does 3-4kts with 3 POB and all up weight ~500kg. Pro's; it is good and reliable and the battery level indicator is a strong plus. Con's; no kick up if you hit the bottom or an obstruction you risk damage if you do. The transom clamps are lightweight, overtighten and you risk breaking the plastic knobs, the steel used in the clamps is light zinc coated it will rust unless rinsed and WD40'd. The tiller handle feels fragile.
Here is a real issue though...the connection leads are short, if you extend them use heavy duty high quality 12v/60amp cables and pay particular attention to the join, mine started a fire due to the wire joiners not being up to the amps which lead to melted insulation which lead to battery shorting when the wires clashed. If you have screwed down the terminals to the battery you are in trouble. My solution was to put in heavy duty cable connectors and a 70amp restable fuse/isolator. I strongly recommend some form of quick disconnect. You need to wash it after use particularly around the prop shaft and transom clamp then spray with WD40.
I recommend it, it's worth the money.
Thanks for your info 🤗👍 awesome ☺️
This is my life and this is my smile! You got it man!
Ken Lua thanks buddy 🤗
thank you my friend, this helped me decide.. 68lb ordered ;-)
You won’t regret it 🤗
Nice video, however just running little rounds doesn't give a good impression of the actuall speeds. So for a moment it crossed my mind to check another video. At the end however you made a clear and nice impression!
Cheers mate!
Thank you 🤗🙏
gps speed would be good to mention
amp draw tester aswell
are you using deep cycle or lifepo4 batteries
WHAT I FOUND MATTERS IS BEEING FAST ENOUGH TO OUTRUN THE BUGS / BITING FLIES
😂😂😂 never had to test that!! Where does that happen 😂
You're Awesome!
Thanks 🤗🙏
take a shot everytime he says ''like'' :P
nice video btw :P
Dinotheone89 😂😂😂🙈
Found your video this morning! Very interesting! Would you one day test bigger motors on bigger boats such as 8.5 meter sail boat! Thank you and keep up your wonderful work!
Thanks, just testing the Torqeedo 3hp, so far very impressed!! But price is also 10 times the amount off these ones
@@SailingBik Price is not a problem.... what is required is satisfactory performance as per claims
@@kennedymaridadi2344 have to say, i Am in love with the Torqeedo as wel! Nu the Nice thing about the 32 and 60 lbs is that you can use every batterij
Great video. I was just about to buy the 60lb one, then found out they are fresh water only .
Been using the 60lbs for over a year in salt water and no problems so far for me.
Its plastic, cant rust. But you should rinse axle and bolt with fresh water if they are not stainless steel.
@@mikkom221 went for a E Propulsion in the end, absolutely love it.
I ordered a 48 LBS and I can't wait to install it on my revived fiberglass dinghy and I will make a CZcams video with the distance/ working hours using an 100Amps battery
Awesome!!!! Can’t wait to see you review it 🎉
Hello please respond, was this test on the sea? And do you think an electric motor would work on the sea with an OK current and waves?
Frisher Gisher yes this was in san Antoni bay in Ibiza and yes it works with waves, wind and current well enough getting you to shore. 👍
good video! did you feel the kick at 5th gear on 60 lbs motor?
yes it def has a kick in the last gear :)
I propel a 26 foot van de stadt with one 40lbs but have two if I need extra effort, just try them on 24volt instant doubling of power, but dont use them too long thats all!!!
That is awesome!!!!!
You should have brought a GPS with you to measure ground speed upwind.
webmasterbou8be yes unfortunately my phone died 🙈
Yes, I commented before I watched the end. Lol. But what brand motors did you test?
webmasterbou8be these ones are from Aquaparx. Also have a test on there 5 HP 4 stroke.
its alot ,its enough, its nice,.. whats the speed??? whats the test results??
i intend to buy a 60lb coupled with a 12v 120AH battery. do you please know how much time i can run it at full speed ?
Really depends on the battery u will buy, but with a full car battery you last a long fishingtrip :)
Nice video 2 years ago on my channel I built a boat that ran on a 40 lbs thrust the boat was 16 ft cabin cruiser and it worked great iam now building a bigger boat with 68 llb thrust
Awesome, where can I see it?
What is your battery? It seems quite light. Is it lithium?
No, just a small normal acid 18ah 12vlt that’s enough to get me to shore and back 😊
JUANKITALKI sisi 😁👍 me gusto 🤗
please tell me what type of batteries you used for the engines ?
Robert de Luxa 2 small 12volt 18amp batteries 😊👍
@@SailingBik THANK YOU !!!
Welcome 😊
Check my 2 engines side by side:

Hangkai is already 6 year old. Honestly i did not think this engine wil last me so long, when i got it. I thaught of it as a temporary engine, and here I am 6 years later. I hope my electric trolling motor last just as long. I like that it is quiet. Hangkai is a typical working tool. Gets me fast from A to B, helps set up fishing nets, does the job but it is very loud. The other is my holiday motor for weekend trips and relaxation.
Cool!!!
I just got my 56lbs motor with mail. My first BIG disappointment in it was the weight. Why the heck is everyone saying this motor is lightweight??? It weighs twice the weight of my 3.5hp gasoline engine and it is 10 times less power. Include the big heavy battery it is 5-6 times heavier then any engine i can fit on my boat. I don't know what the slowest speed it runs on is.. I hope it is not too fast for trolling. Trolling motor should have slow trolling speed.. Gonna have to wait to test it on the water.. So far only bad thing i noticed is the excessive weight on my boat that i'm gonna have to carry around, and that is a really bad thing about this motor.. Now lets look at the bright side.. This motor is cheap. It uses no fuel. It is very quiet, you won't scare away fish with it. It have adjustable shaft so it will fit all boat types. It have reverse gear, useful for some boats. It turns 360 degree, very useful for fast maneuvers. It looks nice and futuristic. You don't get some old looking motor with everything outside. Would I use it as a reserve motor?? Hell no! it is too heavy, i would rather carry two 3.5 hp engines. I will use it to sneak up on fish and for relax, some close to shore net fishing, holiday. In some waters they won't allow you to use a gasoline engine so i have a motor that can run on these waters too. I guess beside complaining about the excessive weight i had some pretty good things to say about the motor. Have fun while it lasts! It's summer now, perfect for boating.
Jack Fisher hi man, what engine did you buy?! The ones I tested here where like 1/3 the weight of even 2.5 hp gasoline engine! The batteries are indeed what makes the setup heavy. For the rest love no messing around with oil/gasoline and no maintenance 😁👌 let me know when you tested yours 👍
I have my old trusty Hangkai 3.5hp runs like a dream. I had it for many years now. I think it weighs like 5-6kg, and i have 56lbs motor made in Netherlands, haba trading is the distributor i am not sure who manufactures it. And 100AH battery on top of that :D .. Hangkai is the best buy so far, it is just so loud you gotta use hearing protection.. I hate the sound of it.. I think i need to mod it with an air filter or something because it sound like spitfire aircraft. there are 2 videos of my hangkai engine on my channel.. That thing is so light yet it put out so much power.. you gotta try it.. I think its cheaper then electric motor or about the same price. Just remember to take good care of gasoline engines.. They require maintaince and breakin process.. Many people on CZcams complain about hangkai break, but it does not break if you use it right.. It needs gear oil changes, lubrication, cleaning, washing, and stuff like that.. Just like any car or scooter.
that 56 lbs trolling motor weighs 13.5 kilo XD, put my 20 kg 100AH battery on top of that and we get 33.5 kg. Hangkai weigh almost 7 kilograms without gasoline in the tank. Tank is 1 liter so with full tank it will be around 8 kg. Hangkai is strong enough to pull a 10 year old on waterski or wakeboard :P that is if you sail on small rubber dingy. It makes around 20km/h full speed when attached to a 2.5m rubber diving dingy boat. These small boats weigh around 20-30 kg each so it is like flying with an engine kit around 3.5-4 hp. 6 hp and you can waterski with adults, but then it start to get dangerous.. 6hp engine on a small light boat like that is insane fast.
Jack Fisher cool!! Thanks for that info and I’ll check your channel for the hankai 😊👌👊
Jack Fisher sounds amazing!! Going to check that out 😁
Would you say the double HP will drain the batt 2ice as fast? In other words will the 30 HP last 2ice as long as the 60? Thx
check out all the specs at www.aquaparx.eu but yes thats about right.
Double the HP should drain battery more than twice as fast, but it won't. Because double the HP will accelerate any small boat faster but maximum speed will be typically less than 20%, so most people will throttle back. My guess would be 4 kph max (kilometer/hour) for a 30# (pound) motor and 5 kph (~3.5 mph) max for a 60# motor. At continuous top speed motoring, the maximum time to drain would be less than 2 hours with 100 AH battery.
60 lbs = more speed ?
LeFlow yes 60 is double compared to 30
Twice the power will give about 50% more speed. If 30 lbs does about 3 mph, 60 lbs will do about 4.5 mph.
.....round about.....
teinh22a 😂 its a Australiën expression 😁
Where was this video taken ? 🤗
Gazpic ibiza San Antonio harbor 👍
Andries Bik I thought I recognised the location. Great video. Just ordered a 62lb motor, so will be interesting to see how well it performs 🤗
Had a great summer there last year 😊👍
Andries Bik yes it's a lovely place. Was in Barcelona last week and watched a rib with and electric motor go by and was so quiet, much better than a noisy petrol outboard
68lb not 62 🙄
These aren't electric outboards they are trolling motors
islandinflatables these are electric motors that can be used for trolling, getting you dingy to shore and more 😉
Grappig amsterdams accent ; )
🙈 Utreg is mijn stadje 😁
Can not hear ya
Ken Harrll sorry had still a bad microphone then
Please wear a life jacket!
I should yes
He’s in like 4 foot of water with a trolling motor he’s safe
Zoieso NL
Jayen van Hout haha jazekers 😁
Turn off the music🤮
that bad ? :)
It’s the motor of vidaxl?
No it’s Aquaparx
