- Just a few weeks ago, in the early morning of the Boca Juniors vs Corinthians match - the second leg of the Round of 16 of the 2022 Copa Libertadores - a group of Boca fans gathered in front of the Hotel Madero, in Argentina. Near La Bombonera, Boca's home stadium.
They let off a thunderous, incredible array of fireworks, pyrotechnics, smoke bombs and flares. They caused a true commotion. Their aim was to ensure the Brazilian side's players emerged weary, tired, fatigued and sleepless.
Did the tactic work ? Not exactly. This custom is not unusual in the Copa Libertadores, but seeing it on video, is insightful. Did these fans go too far ? Or is this simply to be expected, in a tournament with the magnitude of passion, of the Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores ?

I hope the Corinthians had their earplugs in.
They didn't need em, in the end ! According to certain newspapers, "they wanted to show games are won on the pitch"
