Bootleg furbs are fascinating. I love how many of them speak a shared language despite coming from different manufacturers. In my free Furby tabletop RPG, I included them as "furds," a culture of renegade furbs who went their own way and stopped trying to please the clouds.
Solid lore! In my Lore interpretations furby learn and evolve VERY fast (that would explain all the fakes and later generations). Most of fakes were just inspired by Tv programs instead of learing from humans as they supposed to be. That made them more erratic and zany.
the reason many speak a shared language (or several) is because the code was produced by one company and then licensed out to other companies who were willing to pay for it.
woah it's really cool when you have both of them together how you can tell the difference between the quality of the furby's internal parts vs the original furbish parts. It's kinda weird to see a furbish moving like a furby.
it’s presumed that the illustrations in the manual differ so much because they were based off prototypes or early designs. they may have also been created for the Furbishes with black eyelids and a non-hooked beak, which may be prototypes themselves or earlier production runs (or perhaps the fabled Woopi)
