- Disney submitted their proposal to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force today, and with it confirmation of an opening date. July 11th. We also got some details on their re-opening proposal, including whether or not reservations will be needed, and something called "relaxation zones".

Have the Social Distance Squad wear storm trooper uniforms. Lol
LOL! Love this! Thanks for the laugh, definitely needed it!
That’s awesome if I could wear a storm trooper outfit out rig for my whole family so that I am protecting myself in them that’s the only way I would go to wear and wear a mask.
If this is the standard for California I’m done refund on my annual pass until further notice. Or give me a big discount
Temperature checks are indeed pointless. Asymptomatic.
Yeah They just do it for comfort reasons:..
Not necessarily pointless. Yes asymptomatic but could potentially head off a few people that are feeling sick and decide to go to the park anyways.
Temperature checks are nothing but Security Theater.
So you think that not admitting people who have a fever won't lower the chances of COVID-19 spreading in the park by even a little bit?
Even if they catch one person it’s not pointless
It makes sense that they are waiting until the weekend after July 4th to open because there is always extra desire and push to go to theme parks on holidays. A July 11th / 15th date may help keep the initial “rush” crowd down, on top of the limited capacity reservations.
“I know this is all theatre anyway”
He’s got a point
It most coitenly is...
Exactly. Inconvenience is NOT oppression.
"It doesn't cost anything to be kind." 😊
Note they are opening WDW parks a full month+ after other FL parks. That way Disney can watch what happens at Universal and Sea World, how guests behave, and what evidence of virus spread those parks see. And if FL ends up needing to requarantine, Disney never opened and has no COVID cases attributed to the resort.
My daughter is a CM at Disneyland and when this started was told before the parks reopened they would have at least 5 days of retraining beforehand That could also be the mid month reopening.
Bob Chapek was correct when he recently said there would be "pent-up demand" to deal with when the parks reopened. Did you see the line of people waiting to get into World of Disney (which opened today at Disney Springs)? People are craving anything Disney parks-related. They want to be on Disney property. Despite the complainers and anti-maskers who insist that they will not go to the shops or parks when they open, there will be no shortage of people willing to go. The reservations are probably going to be hard to come by for a while, due to the limited capacity and that pent-up demand. But that won't be forever -- capacity won't always be limited to this extreme, and people will not always have to make reservations to get in. People will not always have to wear masks, or stay socially distant from others when dining at restaurants. Entertainment will not always be impacted. These scenarios are temporary -- they may last a while, but not forever. This is all a work in progress, and it will probably be a bumpy road for a while. I don't envy the poor Cast Members who will have to deal with the angry, obstinate guests who refuse to accept and follow rules.
Thank you so much for always keeping us updated!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the quick update!
Am I the only one a little teary eyed at the knowledge that Disney is opening again? I can't afford to go soon...but I love knowing it's out there. It's been a heck of a week...with really good news all over the place in my world. But this is the thing that makes me feel so much better.
Hi David thanks for the update of the reopening of the disney parks
It’s also a week after Fourth of July
Thanks for the update fresh bake like always updating us on the dot
I really hope that the July 11th opening is so that both Disneyland and Disney World open at the same time. At this point I’m anxious and will do anything they ask. I need my Disney 😁
It would make sense to do that. I can honestly see Disney fans on the west coast traveling to Disney World since they are so eager. It’s better to have both parks be open so people aren’t making cross country trips.
Good first steps. We'll be watching! Thanks David. 💜
David jusr love your delivery of the great news.
Social distancing "squad" that makes sure you follow the rules--like the Gestapo?
If you’re gonna be one of those guest who is gonna nag & complain about wearing a mask and start trouble at Disneyland please stay home
Yaaass! Have had my hotel reserved for July 18th and 19th Since Jan. Now just hoping I can get the park reservation with my flex pass!
I work in a hospital and have to wear a mask most days for 12 hours or more, you get used to it pretty quick. We all need to wear them to keep each other safe, no exceptions
@The Best Western Water droplets in exhalation are a major concern. Fabric does catch a good bit of it. It reduces the aerosolization of breath. There have been recent studies indicating that when both parties wear a mask, it reduces transmission by 75% and the cases that occur have a lower viral exposure. They aren't perfect, but much much better that nothing. Virus has been detected in aerosolization at 25% of the original level 3 hours after it initially occurs. Without masks is more closed areas (ride queues), a lot of people will get sick.

I am so glad they are individual testing. The lines on Harbor are not long enough. And I think it is great that they will increase the wait time. I wonder if there will be 6 ft spacing between the thousands who are waiting.
I had a trip planned on May 16th, but had to cancel. I will be glad when the park opens, but not because I will go right away, I will be glad to see Fresh Baked go and share all the new guidelines.
❤❤❤Fresh Baked 😊
They waited till AFTER July 4th on purpose no doubt. The 4th is bananas at WDW. Last year World Drive was backed up from the MK toll plaza all the way to EPCOT.
I noticed something on the disney world page. If you look at hours prior to July 11, everything except Disney Springs was removed. The hours from July 11 and after for the parks have been altered, including showing the staggered reopenings of the theme parks. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach do have hours, as well as extra magic hours. I suspect this suggests that there will still be park hopper plus tickets (otherwise all the resort guests would be trying to reserve the extra magic park). The park hours are a bit odd. AK opens really early, closes at 6. MK opens 9-6. HS 10-8, and Epcot 11-9. Waterpark Hours are pretty normal. DS still showing to 10pm.
YAY!! I hope they do a soft opening/media preview before Disneyland reopens.
Hope guest don’t give the cast member attitude. Please be mindful and be kind!!!!! Follow all rules and guidelines!!! 🙏🏽😷
Heard that Six Flags Theme Parks includes Magic Mountain and Discovery Kingdom in California, they are going to reopen their parks by using a reservation system to let people in.
I can see them doing the temperature screening then you go through bag check, since bag check line can take a minute or so.
We're holding out until it's back to normal.
Thanks for the update! 💙💛💙💛
So regarding what they’ll do about multi-day passes.. I called recently as I have 5 day passes ( I’m from Canada and was supposed to come in March right when this all went down) and I inquired about what would happen with these passes. I was assured that my 5 day passes would be extended till at least May of next year and if the system changed, I would likely be able to transfer them into the new system. They reassured me that I would be accommodated nicely. Disney cast members are the best!!
Orange County California seems to be moving forward super quick so I can see Disneyland opening on July 11 as well.
My cousin's friend is working on the program for the Disneyland reservation system
great news freshbaked
I think they are being wise and prudent therefore avoiding 4th of July crowds, it’s just my thoughts.
Since we haven’t even opened DTD, I say we don’t open till AFTER Disneyland’s bday. Specially since they won’t be able to do any sort of celebrations so that people don’t gather closely
Now we wait for Disneyland
I think the delay for opening gives time for the rides to be run as they haven't been for the past few months and to get tables, chairs, signs put up
I wanna know when the resorts will open and does a room guarantee a ticket and if so is it one ticket per night or one ticket per room no matter if you stay 1 night or 30nights.
Awesome!!! Now can we get some news for Anaheim!?
I like the registration thing for the the theme parks I think that is going to be great even their no pardime it would keep the Les crowded and easier wait time for the rides
Tim tracker suggested maybe they were going to open after July 4th (he mentioned before he knew the dates) to avoid holiday crowds. I liked his thinking and it makes sense,
Hey Fresh Baked!!
They had Storm troopers reminding people to social distance and wear masks at Disney Springs yesterday 👍 I actually think it would make sense if they are trying to coordinate opening on both coasts at the same time. I do hope Disneyland can open by that July 17th anniversary date.
I think that Disney Anaheim is getting for the setup how they going to open
David I’m not techy and I get flustered w apps and things and to maybe have to do ride reservations or park ticket reservations, oh dear. I also panic when I wear a mask too. But I’ll try. I need my Disneyland and will do what I can. Thanks for the info! Kindness is free!
Still have my money on Disneyland opening on July 17th (the original opening day)
You know, one or two months ago I would have disagreed with that idea and thought it was impossible. Two months ago I was certain Disneyland would not open until at least September. I always assumed they would not open on the 4th of July weekend at all, but now, at the rate things are going, I will not be shocked if they do open on or close to July 17th. It could happen.
I still feel like Disneyland would want to open before hand to make sure everything is working on Disneyland’s anniversary.
July 17 sounds great! 2020 or 2021? lol
**Correction** Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom reopening July 11. Epcot and Hollywood Studios reopening July 15.
Doesn’t feel like an escape or vacation with those restrictions in my opinion.. I have a Disneyland AP and I hope they don’t restart my pass until there fully open with no restrictions. Mind you I would be willing to go day one if there was no restrictions
it could be they chose july 11th to give them prior and post week buffer around the 4th of july holiday. what i haven't heard much about is what they're doing on the rides. do they wipe down each ride vehicle after it's been used? with lap bars and the vehicles themselves there are lots of surface areas that can be touched by each guest. wiping down rides would be very time consuming especially things like the train, monorail and submarines.
It's would be sooo freaking cool if they opened Disney on July 17th and played Walt's opening speech. "All who come to this magical place, welcome. Disneyland is your land...."
Happy place mah bad
We have tickets for WDW for 9 days in June. They're park hopping water park tickets too. I am interested in how Disney deals with rebooking others. If you can't hop and water parks are closed they should refund part of the ticket cost. I also find it frustrating that ticket prices aren't the same, so rebooking can end up costing more.
Presumably the relaxation zones are not the same location as the smoking zones.
NSA!
Good news!
I understand that they don’t want you to move chairs at a restaurant, but I hope they have seating for bigger groups. I am a family of 6 so I hope we can all sit together. There are times when we are at Disneyland and it’s hard to find seating of all of us. Thanks for the update.
Just move the darn chairs. Act like you know what you are doing. Maybe with a limit on crowds it will be easier to find the perfect table.
OMG YES
i wonder what the phases of admission will look like.
Hope all those safety protocols will be eased significantly, if not gone entirely, by the time I go to WDW in late September.
One thing I’m worried about is that my family will fill a whole bench that is marked on a part of it, “don’t sit here.” What if they ask us to move?
I also am supposed to be starting my college program in august so I'm dying to know if that is still happening!
Good luck! Oh, you must be on pins and needles with suspense.
Cool open for Disney the same time the NHL will be back
Woo hoo!! Cmon Disneyland!!
june 29th
Lol is that your prediction? I’m sitting here trying to guess when I should rebook for ...hmmmm I was guessing/hoping last week of July...lol. We were supposed to be there now.
How are they going to accommodate APs? Are they going to keep us paying the regular price? Are they going to allow us to opt out? This situation sucks!
Details for DL will come out when it gets closer to opening.
Will Disneyland be eliminating the 'single rider' option on rides?
I have 2 vouchers I bought in December for signature passes to Disneyland. I don't know how I'd be able to go with reservations (I live in Kentucky). I'm not buying more tickets, and my passes aren't active until first visit so I can't use the pass to book I don't think.
I have tickets already purchased for september in disneyland, are they going to force me to reschedule (if theyre open by then)? am i going to have to try to get a reservation?
I dont buy the Disneyland timing with WDW. We are not even in Stage 3 here in california. Once Stage 3 is open - there's still a desire to hold off a little to see what the rate growth is for COVID. I think its august.
Interesting today to see WOD open in Disney Springs. PACKED! not much social distancing outside of the store. Inside VERY small number of people. lots of room. So if you are lucky enough to get a spot in a store (or at the park) your experience will probably be great. Getting one of those reservations will be very hard.
Hello Fresh Baked
I think the relaxation zones are a good idea so that guests can breathe some fresh air and forget about COVID-19 a little bit while in the parks!
Did you read the parks blog safe and slow good for them
On tickets … say I buy a 5 day park hopper RIGHT NOW, will I be able to use all 5 days starting on day 1 of the reopen. ???????
Super good news
I'm curious how Disneyland will handle reservations, since they aren't set up to the same degree that Walt Disney World is. For instance I already have a 3-day pass (One Park per day) I purchased for the family earlier. I'm curious of Disney will let me go three consecutive days, or if they will still even allow Park hopping
Are us Disneyland AP holders gunna get a reopening survey soon?
July 11th would be awesome for Disneyland. My trip is July 27th so that gives them 2 weeks to get everything worked out.
Will you be going for opening day to Disneyland David?
Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom July 11th.
Glad my family was able to enjoy Disneyland in late February. Being that it’s a nice chunk of change for my family of 5 to go to (we’re out of state), we weren’t planning to go back for at least another year. We definitely won’t spend the $ to go with all of these rules.
BTW, one of my immediate family members came down with COVID symptoms on our final day at Disney, including the bizarre rash all over his/her body. 🤔 I just can’t believe that something this contagious hasn’t been floating around the parks prior to March. Good to hear they plan to open up, but we won’t be busting down the doors to return.
I want to know more about how reservations for annual passholders are going to work as I’m one myself. I also don’t know how we can look at merchandise without touching it. Can an one help with this ? Like for example what about if you want to buy a shirt but your size is in the back, would you ask a cast member to get it for you?
I’m hoping for SeaWorld San Diego to open soon so my vacation in August will continue. I can’t cancel
Oh lord... the fact that cast members are most likely about to be yelling out, “6 feet apart” a million times etc...
Its already happening at Disney Springs. Theres a video on twitter where cast members are shouting at guest to remain 6 ft apart
Reopen on my birthday? Might just be the best birthday I could ask for. 😊
If they really want to go inside the park. Disney should make them fill out a waiver form online prior to entering the park. If you or your child gets sick that’s on you. Remember it’s just Disneyland it’s not going away , but your life can from the virus.
They will, it will be on a sign posted at the front.
I wonder when your in the park, and you need a break, are you allowed to sit on one of the "park benches" they have all over the park? Or are they gonna get rid of them? At some point everyone is gonna get tired and need to sit down somewhere.
I think the benches will be fine. They will probably make it so you can only sit at every other bench like they are doing with the tables in restaurants. They will also be sanitizing everything regularly, so benches should be ok
@@bronxbearbud272 you are a troll or a covidiot.
July 11 - is Disneyland 2 weeks behind??
OR????????
Will it be the same time.
Seems like a good plan in that we all get to see what happens in June 2020 with the re-opening in the states. Alabama is already on the rise again, for example. -Frank
On my Birthday what a nice gift🎁🎈🍰🍦
I'm surprised they didn't wait until July 17 for Disneyland 😅 that would have been nice
Yahoo!
I want the construction of the tron roller coaster to be finish so that the Walt Disney World Railroad will reopen again.
I’m so excited! Personally, I don’t think there will be a lack of demand for Disney. If you don’t agree with the rules then just stay home. But from my perspective, if you really want to go then you would follow the rules
I hope that you can get yourself invited to one of the soft opening so that you can video so we can all see what is really going on I’m gonna have an idea of what to expect for our first visit to Disneyland have a good day bye-bye
And how are they going to connect someone for gets symptoms 3 weeks later with the day they went 3 weeks earlier?
I would guess Disneyland does not open simultaneously, that way if Florida has a problem, Anaheim can learn from it.
Maybe they will open on July 17th? That would be a great day, to celebrate!
Won’t be going for awhile I guess. I’m not putting up with the Disney Gestapos aka “social distancing squad”.
I would much rather wait a year or two than deal with all of this. We can it make a trip maybe once a year anyway. I really don't want to gonif it's like this. I appreciate their efforts, but I think it truly loses the fun and spontanaity when it feels like your every move is being monitored.
Imagine comparing Disney's policies to the *Gestapo.* smh, you really want to feel oppressed
On the 11th it will be both Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Then the 15th Hollywood Studios and Epcot
