Great videos with a huge amount of accurate and useful info. Thanks for making these!
this was really educational. This guy knows what he's talking about and that's really appreciated thank you!!!
Learned more from this guy in 10 minutes than from all my online research.
pro trick: watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
Great advice. Thanks for the video.
Good job. I totally agree after owning pontoons for 25 years. Too bad I didn’t see this 25 years ago at the Minnepolis Boat Show!
Now this makes much sense. I heard it explained on another channel that tritoons are for boats 20 and up generally. It also didn't get into the different options for the center tube.
Great job on the video. I've owned several fast Checkmates and Hydrostreams, and have been researching the performance pontoon industry for over 10 years. I've watched several of your videos, and had to comment on this one. Your video is spot-on with the points you made about the differences between triple pontoon types and horsepower recommendations. Wish you guys were in Michigan instead of Minnesota, it's so rare to find a dealer that really knows their industry. Good job! JW
Thank You James. I appreciate your comments. When it comes time for you to purchase a triple tube pontoon and you have any questions, please feel free to call and chat.
Tom
Thanks Tom!
Great video,I really learned a lot.But I have a question,I want a high carry capacity but want to run lower power.I need 10mph tops. Also I would like something safe in (reasonably)rough water. What should I look for?
Very informative video, thank you. But I'm curious though, you didn't mention anything about transoms and I've always thought that how sturdily the transom was built was what determined how big a motor you could put on a pontoon boat. Could you enlighten me in that area a little bit?
You sir, are the Yoda of boating! :) Very informative.
Wow, thanks!
Excellent and informative... wish I had seen this before buying! Would you recommend using a whale tail fin on a 115hp powered 22’ Godfrey sport tube pontoon boat? It struggles to get up on plane when heavily loaded.
Great job on video! and you should mention that the more you run on top of the water like on water ski's the more jarring and harshness to the ride. For people who are not so concerned about speed and want a smooth ride they can eliminate the lifting strakes to get the benefits of more lift and smoother ride. Lookup 3rd toon on you tube I was the first on my lake (2008) did all work and research myself to have a fishing toon for 4 ft waves on the big lake with the smoothest ride. Currently have a 200 hp johnson on 1988 landau. Top speed only 36 miles an hour but the smoothest ride like cadillac. 24in center and 19 in u shaped sides 24 ft long.
Really enjoying all of your videos, wish you were my dealer when I purchased pontoon in 2011. I've been very happy with the boat (240 Manitou Oasis SHP w Etec 250 HO) but the process was tedious with that dealer as I seemed to know more about the boat and how to tune it than he did. You have much more knowledge and explain things very well.
jack fat quick question, I’m looking at similar boat as yours. How fast do you get with the 250 HO?
Top speed for my boat with 3 passengers 5800 rpm is 48 mph. Cyclone TBX 17 4 blade stainless prop. Hole shot is great and the boat stays gripped up very well in the turns. I've pulled 4 skiers with no problem. Motor runs great and strong. Only issue has been tilt relay failed at 3 years. I've been very happy with this motor (Gen 1). I don't run WOT very often at all but if I need to, the motor has always delivered. Has been great combination on this boat (2011 Manitou 240 SHP Oasis).
jack fat great thanks for reply!
At 7:15 they even put a effect in the video to make it seem like you're on a boat
Love your videos, have learned a lot from them! I do have two kinda snarky comments: I agree with the one comment in your video about what size motor is for me, you don't really stick to topic and you veer off into the reliability and customer service of Yamaha. You stop talking about motor sizes and applications right when you get to 90 and 115 hps. Second, in this video on Tri-Toons: Is that a roll of toilet paper on your desk next to your coffee commuter mug? Just seemed odd, haha!
Best info yet
Thank You
Keep adding pontoons and you'll eventually have a monohull, great job!
Or a bridge. Who needs a boat?
Paddle King Pro, a little 15ft boat have 5 tubes
Wow , great!!
Where do I just get pontoons?
I added a center toon to my 24ft pontoon boat that has a sticker that says max hp is 115. I want to put a 150hp on it so how do I change that sticker? Please help...I'm in a jam.
my right ear is lonely
Can you still pull up onto the beach with the manitou style tritoon?
sure
You can run it up onto a concrete boat ramp at 40 mph if you want, it's your boat..
And why don't build a hull on a "w" format? The stability wouldn't bem better? Could be more expensive, but could increase velocity with stability.
Are the tubes hallow or chambered or filled with foam?
hollow
Owner of a 21' tritoon with strakes and undershielding with a Mercury Pro XS 115 CT here, it seems to get up on plane just fine and hits 35mph at WOT with a family of four and our gear, so i can't exactly agree with the statement about 115hp not being enough. Enjoyed the rest of the video though.
21' is pretty small compared to a typical 24' which I think he's mostly talking about in this video, so that's probably why. 115 is plenty for a 21', but not so much for a 24.
8 PEOPLE WOULD BE MORE TYPICAL PONTOON LOAD ....THEN TELL ME HOW IT RUNS...?
@@crashalexander7232 I never had more than 4 people on ours and eventually downsized to what I have now, a Lund 1875 Tyee.

Yes there is, its you…..
Average of 145 per person. Not in the U.S. !
there is company which makes hydrofoils for pontoons they claim 50% fuel savings 40% faster speeds
Lol 140lbs per person
Never buy a regular pontoon....it's like buying a new car from 1980...it's new. But it's already obsolete.
T F
If I want to go fast I go to the V8 Mastercraft...if I want to relax and drink a beer, I go to the regular 2 pontoon that is nice...and affordable. The new Tritoons are outrageously expensive. I’ll use the money for the fishing boat and the jetski

All you said bla bla bla. You yaa yaa yaaed to much. No idea what you said! Useless.
