What is a CE Certificate of Conformity?

A CE Certificate of Conformity (CoC) essentially states that a certain product is compliant with one or more regulations, directives or standards. It also includes information about the conformity assessment performed, the issuing company, product information, and supplier.
In theory, this certificate is issued based on the issuing company reviewing or creating certain documents. This includes test reports and technical files.
However, as I will explain in this video, far from all documents titled ‘Certificate of Conformity’ are valid and based on an actual conformity assessment. In short, many of these documents are invalid and can result in your products being subject to a recall, fines, or other penalties.

Thank you a lot for offering an explanation. I'm glad you clarified. I've been looking for a high volume scba tank, but the US standard for pressurized cylinders is a DOT certification. I've seen suppliers that have exactly what I'm looking for, but not the DOT certification. it had a CE certification,which is to my understanding to a lesser standard of inspection or quality control. Thankfully, I now know and can confidently purchase a safe tank

DOT standards and CE marking are not related in any way. This video should not be the basis for your purchase, as it only concerns fake compliance documents.
