  • We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to take a trip on the Bay from Sandy Point State Park up to Baltimore's Inner Harbor with a stop at a waterfront restaurant for dinner.
Taking the trip in my "little" Lund Rebel XL 1650, a 16.5' aluminum fishing boat. Weather conditions were perfect: winds calm, sun bright, and waves flat. Date: May 15, 2021.

Beautiful boat, nice blue color. This is what boating is about 👍.

Sure was... who knows when the next perfect weekend on the Bay will be... but all I know is it's time for us to get crabbing!

Great video. Making the trip this summer in 21ft boat. Not sure on travel time from Sandy point to Inner Harbor.... running average mph of 25. Any advice is appreciated 👍

Thanks for watching! I don't recall the exact travel time it took but it was around an hour. I was mostly keeping it around ~22-23 since a 16.5' aluminum can't handle the chop like bigger boats. Also it's no wake zone from Ft McHenry all the way to the harbor which is a pretty decent distance. At least there's a lot to look at! Biggest advice from a smaller boat owner is to watch the wind and wave forecasts since even when it looks like a nice day there can easily be 2-3 ft waves on the bay.

    Nice trip and video!
How much fuel did you use to "Charm City" and back?
    Thanks for sharing and uploading!

Thanks for watching! I want to say I used around half a tank or so... maybe a little less. (7-8 gallons). I know I had plenty left when we got back. I don't think I went flat out at any point on this trip, which will definitely go through some fuel.

How long was it from sandy to the inner harbour

It took an hour at least... I wasn't paying too close attention to the time, plus we didn't go directly there in either direction. Also to note, it's no wake zone starting at Ft. McHenry which drastically slows things down. I was doing around 25mph... I can go over 40 but 25 was about the limits of our comfort in the Bay chop. A bigger boat would've definitely helped! :) Either way it was a fun trip! Thanks for watching!

i suppose chances of getting shot in Baltimore are much lower when boating. Good call buddy.
