  • Starting 2023 off strong, today we are taking a look at a Road Electric Bike, the "VanPowers - City Vanture". Thanks to its Belt Drive system and ultra quiet motor, this is one of the smoothest eBikes I have reviewed so far!

    Love the integrated screen! looks a lot better than most other ebikes with the screen just hooked onto the bars.

      Agreed! There's only a few ebikes out there with integrated screens, but its definately a sleeker and more low profile look

    Very cool color! It would be awesome if all of their colors had the same chrome effect

      I agree! Its definitely unique and not something I've seen on any ebike before!

    Nice review E. I will be reviewing this bike next week. I have it unboxed, But nit together yet as the flu bug got me. I love they double boxed it. I asked for the 2nd battery and they said ok, but have not received it as of this review. Bike is beautiful though.

    • @EricReviews
      @EricReviews  Před rokem +1

      Nice! With the extra battery, it'll definitely be a solid bike with good enough range for most people. It shows their extra battery is still on pre order for late February delivery on their website, so they might not even have them on hand yet. Really love these belt drive bikes.. now I'm going to feel like a peasant every time I get back on a traditional chain, lol

      @@EricReviews good I was wondering why I have not received it yet. Belts are so quiet. I grew up a peasant though. LOL. :-)

      @@RVEnthusiast That makes two of us..lol. All I knew growing up was used walmart huffy bikes. If it had two wheels and pedaled I was happy with it.. I figured a bike is a bike..whats the difference..lol

    Very cool bike but seems a bit expensive for a 350w/7ah bike. I guess the belt drive adds on most of the cost.

    • @EricReviews
      @EricReviews  Před rokem

      Definitely! I would've loved to see at least a 13ah battery in the bike. 7ah is good for casual riding, but for those that like to ride longer distances and at faster speeds, it isn't really ideal.
      On the plus side, if your battery does die, the bike IS super easy to pedal!

    Thats one funky looking bike! Belt drive looks cool and im guessing thats where a lot of the extra cost in this bike comes from. Would've been great see at least a 10ah battery. 7ah is way too small and similar to cheaper bikes like the Jetson Bolt. Not sure you can ride very far with that!

    • @EricReviews
      @EricReviews  Před rokem

      I hear you! Even 20ah bikes don't feel enough at times. 7ah would be great for the casual or short commute rider..not so much for those that like to ride the distance. Come spring time I'll have to do a long ride at medium speed and see what kind of range this bike really has.

    Very groovy looking bike. I honestly didn't even know belt drive bikes were a thing. looks good and sounds like it works a lot better as well!

      you're right that 20mph is more than enough for most people. I have an ebike and rarely ever go past 16 or 17mph, but usually ride around 12-14mph. I enjoy the relaxing cruise!

    • @EricReviews

      Belt drive is definitely a night and day difference compared to a traditional chain!

    Cool bike! it does look like its from the 80s. Only If they made their other bikes in this color since I dont really like road bikes.
    Thanks for the video Eric!

    You should review the Rad Trike next

    • @EricReviews

      That one looks like a solid bike but unfortunately Rad Power only sends out review units to larger channels from what I've seen. Hopefully in the near future!

    • @EricReviews

      Thank you. For the in garage footage its my Galaxy S21 Ultra phone and then its a GoPro 9 for the bike riding footage. I do have a Sony A7c, but only have lenses for photos right now. I need to pick up a good zoom lens so I can easily make videos with it.
      But for now, the S21 Ultra definitely has a great camera and works great!

    u didnt find it disappointing that the top speed is 5mph off? even peddling aggressive, u barely get 20mph. and going up hills, its very weak compared to other peddle assts bikes with 350w motors .. other than that, its sleek, great digital display, great looking, and great brakes

    • @EricReviews
      @EricReviews  Před rokem

      20mph on a single speed 350w bike is pretty much all you're going to get. I've tested a few 350w bikes that barely touched 15-16mph. Realistically I'm not going past 20mph on most rides so while high speed is nice to have, its not what makes or breaks a bike for me (assuming its not incredibly weak and slow)

    • @esk8unity
      @esk8unity Před rokem +1

      @@EricReviews yea i disagree.. my babymaker and ride1 up Roadster gets up to speeds faster and hits that 25mph easily. it also climbs hills faster. If ur just chilling, sure 25mph might be a bit much, but we have pev group rides n hills, so my girl needs more speed and power. maybe the unlocking code will be better. MIGHT try it tmoro
