    Love your content Bonnie. It would be great to show your diamond curation process. Specifically, what diamonds “don’t make it” side by side the diamonds you choose.

    I think lab will become the norm, the way cultured pearls have over natural pearls.

    I'm a huge fan of your content, Bonnie! Thanks for sharing your diamond curation process! I agree that lab grown diamonds are just as beautiful and the creation process is so expensive, lengthy, and a work of art in and of itself. I simply adore my lab-grown engagement ring from Karaters!

    I love diamonds in rings like Lady Diana/Kate Middleton’s sapphire and diamond ring. These are more affordable depending on the quality of the central gem. However if it’s down to larger diamond type rings- moissanite works for me.

    All things being equal we find white gold aids diamond sparkle more than yellow gold. Its comes down to the amount of light reflected off the metals and how that interacts with the diamonds

    • @lc4n333
      @lc4n333 Před rokem

      Fun fact; silver has the most light reflection for precious metal. I know silver is dirt cheap thus not so special but still beautiful. It can tarnish but it can be cleaned easily with special cleaner.

  • @slysays
    @slysays Před 2 lety +2

    Bonnie can u talk abt if I only hv budget for 2 carat engagement right - which cut will look the biggest? And if it’s in 3 stone emerald cut as centre stone , will a 2 carat emerald be too small for this style ? Is it best for just a single stone on the tiny band ?

    My jeweler says lab grown diamonds lose their value quickly while natural diamonds retain their value once you get past the initial retail drop. Are band stacks still popular?

    I disagree. It’s the cut that makes the stone sparkles. A really good cut diamond, regardless if there are rough surfaces beneath the diamond, that doesn’t matter unless the diamond has leakages. A excellent/ideal cut should bounce/reflect light right back out, which make it sparkles. Even if you have an amazing setting, but a cloudy poor cut diamond, it’s not going to sparkles no matter what.
    I agree people should have a good setting if they spent all that much on a diamond since it will make the diamond ugly or if it doesn’t fit the diamond correctly then it can block light coming in.

    • @acosta829
      @acosta829 Před 2 lety +1

      Why are you disagreeing? Thats exactly what she said - craftsmanship in diamonds is literally cutting and polishing

    • @JMac-27
      @JMac-27 Před 2 lety +4

      Cut above all else. Cut, clarity, color, carat every time

    • @jadormycc8819
      @jadormycc8819 Před 2 lety +1

      @@acosta829 because it isn’t the setting that makes diamond sparkles, it’s the cut itself. If you have a handmade setting and the mass market print setting, if is the correct size for the diamond, it’s going to be the same. Same sparkles, same beauty on the diamond. Except, why would you spend $50k on a diamond and get a mass production setting that cost $500-$700? It will make the overall look ugly, but has no effect on the sparkles of the diamond even if there are rough edges everywhere.

    • @acosta829
      @acosta829 Před 2 lety

      @@jadormycc8819 thats what she said, craftsmanship on the diamond

    • @jadormycc8819
      @jadormycc8819 Před 2 lety +2

      @@acosta829 nah that’s not what she said. She said the craftsmanship makes the ring sparkles. It’s not the craftsmanship, it’s the cut that makes the diamond sparkles. The craftsmanship only make the overall look pretty or so so. It has no effect on the diamond sparkles because craftsmanship has no effect. I guaranty if you have a crappy diamond cut and put on bonnie’s setting, it will make no difference. A crappy stone will not look better even if the craftsmanship looks nice.
