  • I recently gave a first impressions video on the New Balance 550 in the Burgundy/Cyan colorway. I have since logged many miles on the sneaker and I wanted to do an product review on it since a lot of people are interested in buying this clean pair of sneakers! Does it live up to the hype? How's the cushioning? Could there be any problems? How does this compare to the Aime Leon Dore collaboration pairs? Let's find out...

Wow I have the exact same problem on my neutral grey 85s. My right shoe broke in beautifully, but my left shoe has that same pressure point. To break it in more, I started playing basketball in them and put them through many games. It's helped a ton and I even achieved a more 1985 look after all that wear, but so far the pressure point is still noticeable.

I had very similar issue with my AJ1 where my right pinky toe hurts like hell.
It happened from my 2nd or 3rd time wearing it and gradually went away after more mileage. I always put those wrapped white paper in the tow box area trying to avoid creasing. And I think that might help actually…. That helps the leather to expand and then consequently be softer, I guess?
The way that you bend it, actually induces its crease and it sticks out when you walk.
