Pocky and Rocky (SNES) Playthrough - Pocky - Hard Mode (Deathless)

Playthrough of Pocky and Rocky for the SNES on Hard mode while also completing the game deathless with Pocky. On Hard mode in the western release of the game, you only start with 1 live and no bombs so taking into account the only hidden 1up you can get in the 1st stage of the game, you will only have 2 lives to work with. Theres only a few differences between Pocky and Rocky and it mainly revolves around how their bombs and charge attacks actually work. Pocky's charge move will make her spin her wand for awhile damaging any enemy nearby while her bomb is mostly cross shaped with very little power on diagonal angles. unlike some wikias claim, theres no change to their dash speeds or movement speeds at all. She is the harder character to play as compared to Rocky especially when attempting a deathless run. While this game has unlimited continues, its very hard to comeback and proceed if you die as its similar to how The Revenge Of Shinobi deals with a game over as you lose all your extra hit points per stage cleared back to the default 4 hearts and on later stages you want those extra hitpoints. Its always advised you stick with the regular power up instead of going for the Fire power up as its a spread shot and its overall damage will be higher if all projectiles hit the same target. Care must be taken as you collect power ups as every 3 hits you take regardless of how much damage you took will make you lose one stage of your power up. Picking up another power up from the same type of shot even at max will reset the hit counter. Changing power ups will reset to the very first stage so its not advised you ever change power ups if close to maxing one out. Getting a deathless run in this game should be treated like it was a full on shmup game but without one hit deaths but everything else like remembering patterns and the such and clever usage of your bombs is the key to success.

Truth be told i never played Pocky and Rocky as a kid but after watching a streamer play it (@ssjgoten99) and it resembling Arcus Odyssey (for me At least) it actually gave me that itch tô play it myself😊. If i played this as a kid i would love it as much as i do now if not more actually.
