In a world of clickbait and cliffhangers, to have a content creator think about us minions at the other end of the camera (who care about you and worry on your behalfs and who follow you and support you), and not want to leave us hanging so to speak, is refreshing and so kind on your part. Luca, don’t worry about crying. I went through the same thing when I was in hospital after my stroke. Crying means that you are alive and thank goodness for that. Each passing day means you are making progress. Each passing day means you are closer to being reunited with your lovely family. Each passing day means hope. I’m sure your doctors are wonderful but don’t forget that love is one of the strongest medicines you can receive and it looks like you have that in abundance! Don’t worry about your lost memories of the event, concentrate on making new ones with Sara and your beautiful daughter.
Luca and Sara and your beautiful baby girl and extended families…we love you all. When my handsome husband was a vibrant 47 years old (he is 73 now) he had a heart attack. When cutting his jeans and shirt off in the emergency room one of the trauma nurses remarked on his “remarkable physical condition” and asked me if he worked out! I only bring up that inappropriate remark today is that was my first thought when I read your first post on this tragedy. Now it is 25 years back and we wish you a lifetime ahead with one another. Yes the tears say you are alive and you are on the path to becoming strong and healthy again
Compounds come out of your body through tears…it is one of your body’s ways to release hormones and chemical wastes that need to be removed from your body, so it’s IMPORTANT to cry when you feel like you need to.

Pretty sure all 115,000 of us were eager to get this update. It was incredibly thoughtful and kind of you to let us know how things are going. We were comforted to know that you have a fantastic support system in place to help care for Luce while you navigate this rough patch. You never know how you might react in case of an emergency and Sara was on it in an instant. We look forward to a speedy recovery and maybe getting to meet the 911 operator as well as the ambulance crew and the team of doctors there at the hospital. You got this!

I am a Physical Therapist x 37 plus years, it is very encouraging to see how quickly he is regaining movement, such a blessing and a good sign!! Keep up with your rehab even when it gets tough which it will but will pay off big time. Thinking of you all, stay strong you will see this through!

I too cried through this. 3 yrs ago I went through the same. (Of course not with the same diagnosis because all strokes can be different) . I can see the improvements in his dear hands and they will get stronger each day. At the beginning I had lost my speech completely but now it’s much improved. It’s amazing how the brain works and how the body and brain can heal. I was left with what they call ‘labile emotions’ ……. The crying is awful but for me the ‘laughing’ is worse…… I have grandchildren and they make me feel joyful and then I laugh, side splitting laughter, tears come, I’m exhausted after it. But it’s much better now:). I’m a retired NNICU nurse and so my training enables me to understand the complexity of Luca’s case. Many prayers go out to you from me. Please look after yourself too…… mummy needs to be MEGA CAREFUL AND LOVING TO HERSELF. From the beginning of this it makes you see how important FIRST AID TRAINING can be. Keep strong and focused and yes, love your family as best, best as you can. A big thankyou and a big hug goes out to Luca’s mother. She is the biggest help now and she’s bound to be sooooo worried about her boy❤️.
Yes Luca you are not alone, there are thousands of people around the world who care about you and Sara. You bring so many people happiness with your wonderful videos. And we can see what good people you are. I remember when the dog bit you at the mountain pass when you were crossing the Andes. You said I need to apologize to the dog for scaring him with my drone. Not many people would have felt compassion for the dog in that moment like you did! Get better my friend.

I hope this helps with some of your expenses. What I am amazed by is that Luca can speak a second language after all he has gone through! That is so amazing! Like Sarah said the fact that you are sharing your experiences is also helping those of us who have never dealt with anyone who has had a stroke. Please do not feel obligated to post videos If you don't feel like it. We love you so much and want Luca to get healthy as soon as he can. Also isn't it wonderful that technology allows him to see Lucia over the phone. We love you.

My Gosh, Sara, I was not expecting an update from you let alone seeing Luca for weeks, so I was so happy and overjoyed to see this video today. I couldn't click on it fast enough. Luca you are a Roman Warrior! You are a Gladiator! You are already moving your hands, you are already getting the feeling back. And can we all just take a moment, and clap the fact that he woke up of course speaking Italian, but also has not forgotten a word of a second language. We take it so natural that Luca speaks English, but its not easy for your brain to try and search for those words at a normal time, let alone after a stroke! Please keep getting better, you both had me crying these last two videos out of relief. Keep going Luca, we are all behind you!!!

Yes, I'm amazed also at how well he is speaking English! In just 8 days (yes, very long 8 days for you) you have regained so much! Emotions are close to the surface after strokes & you, Luca, also have a big heart & not afraid to show your feelings. So these emotions are OK. Thank-you for the update! So much love for you and the whole family. My ex-husband used to treat stroke patients with a special machine that works on the nerve paths to regenerates the nerve flows. Because Luca is young, he gain regain 100%! It is amazing how the body regenerates, esepcially for the young and fit. Looking forward to your wonderful videos ahead. You are so brave to share this all with us, Sara.

Hi, I’m brand new to your channel. Heard about you from Trent and Allie. I was a speech therapist in a rehabilitation setting for over 30 years. The fact that Luca is recovering quickly is a VERY good thing!!! It’s wonderful that his speech is so much better, that the facial droop is better, and that his swallowing appears to be normal!!! I will certainly keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

My brother-in-law had the same leaking from his spinal cord. They have done the patches twice now and it has been totally successful. We pray he has the same results.

Coraggio, Luca, rest and surrender, knowing you are in the best place right now for healing. And Sara, you are truly the rock, sharing your strength and balance. Last year I spent 34 days in a hospital bed just like that, IV's in both arms, with a bilateral pulmonary thrombosis (blood clots filling both lungs and impacting the functioning of the heart), my first time in that serious/scary a medical emergency, so I can relate to what you are going through. It took six weeks of post-hospital home-care and physical therapy to regain my strength to even walk again. But here I am, having recently spent 3 weeks
(May-June of this year) in Italy/Tuscany and France, so: again, coraggio! You will be restored and I wish you both many happy family travels in the not-too-distant future.

Luca is improving but you should ask the Doctors if a V-P Shunt would help to drain the CSF. V-P means Ventricle-Peritoneum Shunt which is a drain from the Brain to the Peritoneum (Abdominal Area) & then the CSF Fluid will be Excreted by the body. Happy that Luca is moving his Left Arm! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

12 years ago one of my best friends died from a brain aneuryism, thinking of him can still make me cry today, and there is nothing shameful in those tears or any others. BEst wishes for a quick recovery Luca, take care of yourselves first.

Back in 96 we lived in the high mountains of New Mexico, and I had a bleeding disorder, one night at 3am we called 911 and they were there in 10 minutes but it took them 3 hours to get to the nearest Hospital.

My 32 year old nephew suffered a catastrophic brain injury a couple years ago. A concrete planter fell on his head at a restaurant. Was in a coma for weeks, and had multiple brain surgeries. Hospital told them they had no idea how much he would recover and were not optimistic. Happy to report he made a FULL recovery! He was a healthy, fit young man with a great attitude. His parents had tons of help and support. He too cant remember alot of what happened. Now he is a remote worker's always travelling around the world. Stay optimistic and spread the LOVE! ❤💛💚💙💜
Blessings and prayers for all of you. Stay strong! Doctors and nurses are amazing! At 44 I had a heart attack 7 minutes after we got to the hospital. My 12 year old son was with me alone because my husband was parking the car. It was a blood clot to my heart. I was in ICU for most of a week. I really don't remember that except it was a beautiful room. Great Doctors! I am 72 and no more problems yet with blood clots. I'm certain it will be the same for you.

I cried my way through this because I am so grateful - I think I can safely say we are all so grateful - that we can see Luca, that he is safe, he's getting healthy. Luca, I served in the military for 28 years. I am generally considered a “tough guy”, but after all these years I finally learned that crying is ok, even good for you. You cry when you feel the need, release the emotions, it’s very good for you. My wife and I are praying for the three of you as well as your families. Stay strong! 👏🏻
