- This video is all about thinking how to create a beautiful container garden on porches, patios and decks with potted plants that are easy to care for and don't require babysitting with a water hose!
Before getting into the bulk of things, we show you what our deck and container garden used to look like prior to the transformation. Our old growing scheme was beautiful, but required way too much work and time consuming effort to keep everything looking good.
In this video I talk about strategies for picking the right plants, how to protect your deck, and thoughts about how to choose the best number of plants that won't be overly time consuming for you. I've selected some very drought tolerant plants such as Agapanthus, Amaryllis, Plumeria, Adenium, Epiphyllum and Lantana. I've also employed repetition to create a more harmonized look and ensured there is plenty of negative space to keep things looking well spaced. #pottedplants #containergardening #gardening

Great video and beautiful looking containers, they are the bees knees. We have a small front garden with four flowerbeds, fifty two pots of perennials and six pots of annuals on the front windowsills. My wife has no interest in gardening and tells me the garden looks like a mini garden centre. It takes nine watering cans to water the pots and seventeen watering cans to water the beds. Its been a rainy summer in Ireland and last Saturday was the first time I watered the flowerbeds this year, I have been watering the pots twice a week since the start of May. I have a lot of drought tolerant plants in the flowerbeds and the pots.
It sounds like a little paradise! Thank goodness for all the rain bc 17 trips is a bit tedious! That marks a true plant lover though

Stephanotis? Could you show what it is? Some of us only know plants by common names, thanks. Video ideas-- dwarf container trees, zone 6-7 fruit trees/shrubs, review of hoses/watering systems for outdoor container plants. Love your channel. I know lots about veg gardening but little about decorative plants, need to learn more!

Love the wire railing. What is the decking material, wood or poly? I have “tried” to reduce the amount of plants I have on the deck this year. It didn’t work.😂
